DayZ Standalone Sales Mean Bright Future in 2014

Three weeks after the standalone version of DayZ (originally an extremely popular ArmA II mod), DayZ has well over 800,000 in sales, all the while being released on Steam as an Early Access game, with no Steam Sale to help it out.

What do these kind of sales mean for DayZ? Well on Reddit, creator Dean Hall stated, "We had very ambitious plans for 2014 already, however this amount of sales was completely unexpected."

With such a strong start, it looks like DayZ is going to be massively popular in the new year. However, many are criticizing the standalone for how early Alpha the game is. There are many people complaining of it's rampant hacking and server hopping, along with it's glitch infested zombies.

But with these sales, there are sure to be major improvements in the future.

DayZ is on Steam for $29.99
