Croatian Amor, the alter ego of electronic artist Loke Rahbek, is releasing his new record, The Wild Palms, on cassette starting on June 22 to July 22nd. However, in order to obtain this record, you must send him....well, a nude selfie of yourself. While seeming bizarre at first glance, Loke explains in an interview that the aim of this motive is that of intimacy with his audience. As he states in this article:
“When you share your work with someone, it can be like showing your own skin – you are stripping naked,” he says. “So I ask that anyone who gets the music does not share it with anyone. And I promise in return to not share those photos with anyone. They are going to be in a file, and they are going to stay there. I wanted it to be secret, because you know if we’re talking about intimacy, nothing is stronger than keeping secrets together.”
According to Loke, the amount of copies of his record will be limited, being based on how many people willing go along with the experiment and send him a nude photograph. Without a doubt, this will probably be the most unique and interesting release this year in my eyes. Your move, Wayne Coyne.
