Sanford, ME — 9/11/2025 On Saturday night, in the midst of pouring rain and tornado warnings, the town of Sanford came together for something bigger than a music video. Local artist and barber Bitter Bones (known locally as “Bones” of 4 Gen Barbershop) gathered a crowd of supporters who stood strong through the storm to raise awareness for substance abuse and mental health.
Despite the weather, dozens of people marched with black balloons and signs honoring loved ones lost, while joining Bitter Bones in performing his new single “RX Bottle.” The community’s energy transformed the shoot into more than a production — it became the launch of a movement dedicated to breaking the cycle of addiction and showing the power of unity in recovery.
The upcoming music video for “RX Bottle” tells a deeply personal story of loss, resilience, and redemption. At its core, it highlights the cycle of addiction and the importance of being present for the next generation. Bitter Bones, who celebrates 10 years of sobriety this year, uses the project to give hope to those still struggling and to honor the strength of the recovery community.
Beyond music, Bones is well known in Sanford for giving back through his work at 4 Gen Barbershop. He recently organized free thrifting and haircuts for local families in need, clothing the community and offering support to those who need it most.
“This wasn’t just about me — it was about us,” said Bitter Bones. “Sanford showed up through a storm to prove that we’re stronger together, and that recovery is possible.”
Bitter Bones teamed up with Riley, whose résumé includes work with Blackbear and Chase Atlantic, making “Rx Bottle” a crossover moment between rising talent and established artistry.
