Album Review: RebelSun - Stuck in My Head

Houston locals, RebelSun, have been garnering a lot of attention and generating a lot of buzz recently and after listening to their new album, Stuck in My Head it is easy to see why. RebelSun is the future of Alternative Rock music with a unique balance of Hard Rock and Pop. They have managed to make an album that is cohesive and caters to almost everyone. RebelSun have been through many different phases already as a band from “different members to different genres” and have finally found a sound and a lineup that works for them.

With elements of Pop, Rock, and Indie Stuck in My Head will be like unlike anything you’ve ever heard. Each track offers a new sound that will keep you listening to hear just what they are going to do next. In a world where every song begins to sound the same RebelSun stick out in a major way and are poised to make a huge splash with the release of their debut album. Do not be surprised if you see them playing and touring with all your favorite bands this time next year.

A standout track in this album is the title track “Stuck in My Head” an upbeat song that will have you singing and dancing along at your local emo party. They matched a catchy hook with some tastefully placed heavy breakdowns and created a masterpiece. The album also features Myke Terry of Volumes on the track “Step Inside” which is another solid bop for fans of Breathe Carolina circa 2009. RebelSun then slows it down with their track “Home” with heavy pop influences while still keeping the heaviness and rawness that we have come to expect from rock music. Tyler Larson shows great talent with the diversity in his vocal styles throughout the album and the band as a whole is just incredibly dynamic and able to offer many different styles while still staying true to their sound.

Stuck in My Head is available now on their online store as well as on ITunes and is available for streaming on Spotify. Pick up their album now and do not miss out on the chance to rub your superior taste in music in your friend’s faces. Check out their lyrics video for “Step Inside” below and also be sure to catch up with them on social media (@rebelsuntx) to keep up to date on shows and upcoming projects.
