Radio.com is reporting that Tim Lambesis, singer for As I Lay Dying was sentenced today to six years in prison in a San Diego Superior Courtroom for attempting to hire a hit man to kill his wife. The sound of truth didn't come out and Tim will ultimately be confined for six years. He'll spend the darkest nights condemned in his cell, forever going through struggle
The verdict was handed down as the singer’s ex-bandmates Nick Hipa, Phil Sgrosso and Josh Gilbert looked on. Spilling into the section typically reserved for the defense, many of Meggan’s more than three dozen supporters adorned small yellow felt hearts pinned to their shirts to make their sentiments known. With more than 80 spectators packing the gallery, defense attorney Tom Warwick told the judge that he had a lot of people who support Tim and he wanted “some kind of parity” with the seating in the room.
As I Lay Dying has posted a lengthy update on their website regarding the future of the band. View full update below
As we all know, Tim Lambesis is in jail and out of As I Lay Dying. The band posted videos over their Instagram accounts of them playing some material, but the vocals don't belong to Tim. They, in fact, belong to their bass player, Josh.
If you're a fan of As I Lay Dying, then you're no stranger to Austrian Death Machine. The side project originally started as a joke band, which is odd to think cause they're better than most "serious" bands. After raising funds on Indiegogo and a life-changing controversy later (Google it), Triple Brutal is finally seeing the light of day!
Despite their vocalist, Tim Lambesis, facing major jail time, Artery Recordings has teamed up with Ahhnold to release Austrian Death Machine’s new record "Triple Brutal." The record will hit retail stores and digital outlets on April 1st 2014. Triple Brutal was previously crowd funded on Indiegogo and had massive support. All contributors will start receiving their packages on March 28th. Austrian Death Machines previous record Double Brutal topped the scales and sold over 60,000 copies. Royalties from Triple Brutal will be going to the World Vision Charity. For more information on the charity you can go here. (http://www.worldvision.org/) Listen to a new song, "I'll Be Back" below
