A short brawl broke out at Citizens San Diego stop. According to fans the security was being too harsh on the crowd. Do you think they were doing their job or going overboard? Read more to view more videos of other bands getting in incidents with security. (The Story So Far, Letlive. , I Killed The Prom Queen, Nirvana, Limp Bizkit, etc)
Issues finally announced their headliner...and it's underwhelming.
Remember that tour we mentioned earlier? It's on like Donkey Kong. Joining the foray will be I Killed The Prom Queen and Capture the Crown. Dates are below.

Dangerkids, a heavier version of Linkin Park (think Hybrid Theory and Meteora) were a perfect choice to open the Take Action tour. Their catchy songs and Innerpartysystem vibe kept the crowd excited and energized. The band was very grateful for the crowd's support (including mine) and were excited to see such amazing feedback for the opener. Their drummer Katie Cole killed it (yes they have a girl drummer). Their singers Andy Bane and Tyler Smyth kept the crowd engaged while jumping around and singing/rapping/screaming their hearts out. You should check out their debut album Collapse if you haven't already. This is a band to follow and keep an eye on. To anyone who is lucky enough to get this band for Vans Warped Tour should definitely check them out.

Australian powerhouse I Killed The Prom Queen began with their vocalists screaming their Beginning of the End intro from their new album Beloved was a great beginning to their surprisingly short set. The guitars on Thirty One and Sevens and Sharks in Your Mouth were on point. There was a problem with the sound so the vocals could barely be heard but from what I could hear but none-the-less, the set was full of energy and excitement. To the disappointment of myself and the other members of the crowd, their set was cut short after Calvert Street due to them taking so long setting up but I still enjoyed their set.
Setlist:
Beginning of the End
Sharks in Your Mouth
Thirty One and Sevens
Calvert Street
The Ghost Inside: with their opener being their most popular song Engine 45, the crowd was pumped from the start. With the whole room was screaming "If it's a war you came to see you will never see a waved white flag in front of me" how could you not be excited. Playing some old school favorites like Chrono and Faith and Forgiveness made this a great tour to see The Ghost Inside. While they skipped This is What I Know About Sacrifice due to timing concerns, was still an amazing experience. Remember to catch The Ghost inside on all the dates of the Vans Warped Tour this summer!

As a household metalcore name, The Devil Wears Prada never disappoints. From the very beginning with the green lights and the fog machines spilling pancake smelling fog (yes, you read that right, the fog smelled like pancakes) truly set the mood. The band comes on stage without a normal intro and dives into the first song of the night, Sailor's Prayer. When Escape (the intro to 2011's Zombie EP) began, the lights switched to red and created the effect of zombies and blood which was really amazing. After a few more songs, Mike Hranica (lead vocalist) went offstage and grabbed a guitar and dove into Kansas which is the instrumental interlude from 2012's Dead Throne. The band then went into a jam session of sorts which was different from anything id heard from them previously. The session led perfectly into War and the crowd was still settled down so you could perfectly hear Hranica scream "I'm fighting the war, rather than war itself. Jeremy DePoyster (clean vocalist/rhythm guitar) never disappoints with his amazing choruses that have whole venue singing along. Fast forward to the band's encore which consisted of Mammoth (From Dead Throne) and a fan-favorite Danger:Wildman which consists of Mike Hranica screaming "I know a ghost" for the beginning of the song which would give anyone chill bumps. Prada's performance was by far the best of the night and remember to check them out the entire summer on the Van's Warped Tour!

I Killed The Prom Queen are super excited to finally announce that they’ve signed with Epitaph Records who will release their new album early next year!Band guitarist/vocalist Jona Weinhofen (ex-Bring Me The Horizon) said of the signing:
“We are absolutely ecstatic to join the Epitaph Records family. Having worked with the label previously with Bring Me The Horizon, I knew exactly what Epitaph was capable of and that it would be the perfect home for I Killed The Prom Queen. Epitaph is already the home to so many of our heroes such as Converge, Refused, Pennywise and Every Time I Die, and has helped launch our good friends Parkway Drive, The Ghost Inside, Day Of Contempt, Letlive. and more. To say that we are a part of this family is truly an honour.”

Whitechapel just posted a tour documentary shot on the “Don’t Pray for Us” Tour in the Spring of 2013 with Asking Alexandria, Motionless In White, Chimaira, and I Killed The Prom Queen. This video takes an in depth behind the scenes look at the lives of the members while on tour. It can be seen below
2012 has came and disappeared as fast it entered and there were great albums to go along with it. We’ve compiled several lists below; enjoy!
Top 10 Albums
Awakening - As I Lay Dying
As I Lay Dying went what they know for this record and that’s creating straight up metalcore. Circle pit riffs, crushing double bass, powerful vocals and a live experience to back it up. It’s worth noting there’s much clean vocals on this record than previous releases.
Listen to: A Greater Foundation
Get What You Give - The Ghost Inside
One of my favorite hardcore bands (despite Scott Vogel’s irrelevant opinion) in recent years, The Ghost Inside decided to change it up on Get What You Give with clean vocal choruses and some group shouts but still retaining their melodic/breakdown driven song structures
Listen to: Engine 45
The Royal Thousand - Glass Cloud
When I heard two of the members graduated from Berklee College of Music; I immediately became hooked after hearing the first single, “White Flag”. You may know the talented guitarist, Joshua Travis from his old band, The Tony Danza Tapdance Extravaganza. His 8 string antics really add dynamics to a genre plagued by Hot Topic kids with swoop haircuts and V-necks. It must really suck to be Of Mice & Men right now.
Listen to: Ivy & Wine
Parkway Drive - Atlas
Australia has some of the best bands (Hands Like Houses, The Amity Affliction, I Killed The Prom Queen) and Parkway Drive are no exception. I’m truly convinced Winston McCall gargles some really fine Australian sand before he does a show because his vocals are some of the best I’ve heard.
Listen to: Old Ghost/New Regrets
Veil of Maya - Eclipse
A lot of people didn’t like this record cause they thought it was basically Periphery with Brandon Butler on vocals since Misha Mansoor co-wrote/produced this album. It’s some of their best work yet with lone guitarist Marc Okubo ripping up the fretboard. Sumeriancore at it’s best, at least until the new After The Burial comes out.
Listen to: Punisher
Whitechapel - Whitechapel
Lamb of God - Resolution
The Chariot - One Wing
Every Time I Die - Ex Lives
Periphery - Periphery II: This Time It’s Personal
Best New Band
Glass Cloud; they put out of the most impressive debuts for their respective genre.
Best Record Label
Sumerian Records; they have some of the most talented (and not so talented..) bands on their diverse roster.
Best PR/Publicist
George Vallee - Sumerian Records
PR people don’t get the recognition they deserve. Without them, we wouldn’t be able to cover shows and interview bands
Most Anticipated of 2013
Animals As Leaders
Austrian Death Machine
Born of Osiris
A Day to Remember
The Dillinger Escape Plan
Brand New
My Chemical Romance
Slipknot

Best Album: Deftones “Koi No Yokan”
The guys of Deftones did not disappoint with their follow up to 2010’s “Diamond Eyes”. “Koi No Yokan” fits right in with the sound that the Deftones made their own with “White Pony” and their self-titled. This album embodies everything I love about Deftones and I couldn’t be more happy with the album.
Best Tour: Taking Back Sunday - Tell All Your Friends 10 Year Anniversary Tour
I was only 11 years old when I first heard “You’re So Last Summer” From Tell All your Friends. This was the first album I ever bought with my own money and the first album I ever obsessed over. It’s still one of my favorite albums. To see the band perform it live from beginning to end was indescribable. The 11-year-old in me was beyond ecstatic.
Best New Band: Dead Sara
Dead Sara have had a huge year with the release of their first full length, acting as tour support for some big names, and taking part in the Vans Warped Tour over the summer. Their sound is not what you have come to expect with a female-fronted band, but it’s pure rock’n’roll.
Best Record Label: Sumerian Records
The people at Sumerian handled the Falling in Reverse/I See Stars debacle really well. They stood up for I See Stars and supported them throughout the situation and were quick to support the band’s statements on the whole issue. It’s always great when a label thoroughly supports their artists in tough situations like this.
Most Anticipated of 2013: Bring Me the Horizon
If “Shadow Moses” is anything to go by, the new BMTH album is going to be one of the best albums of 2013. Their last release leaves big shoes to fill, but from the little information the band has released about the new album it’s sure to live up to the expectations.
Song of the Year: Enter Shikari “Arguing with Thermometers"
Enter Shikari’s latest album is amazing from beginning to end, but “Arguing with Thermometers” has to be my favorite track. Not only is it a banger of a song, but the lyrics send a strong message about how corrupt our society has become and the effect we are having on our environment. The world needs more songs like this.
Artist of the Year: Pierce the Veil
Pierce the Veil played the main stage at the Vans Warped Tour, released their newest album “Collide With The Sky”, and sold out almost all of the dates on their headlining tour of the same name in 2012. They’ve proved that they are a forced to be reckoned with and they’re not going anywhere. I can’t wait to see what 2013 has in store for the quartet.
