Music Industry Entrepreneurs Brandon Spearman and Ryan Helm (former guitarist of Solid State Records, Demon Hunter and The Ascendicate) have officially announced the launch of Infamous Empire Records. After one and a half years of building up Infamous Empire as a multipurpose entertainment company, the two have formed a record label that is unique to its rival companies. The label focuses on building the artists record sales while keeping the artist out of major debt with the label.

Most labels are set up where the artist is initially indebted thousands of dollars prior the release of their album. “Everyone at Infamous Empire are all musicians ourselves so we know labels are intimidating to bands” says Spearman, “We’ve created a record label that still allows bands the proper marketing while continuing to keep the band over the profit margin.”

With six weeks to go until the release of their highly anticipated new album, True Defiance, metal mainstays DEMON HUNTER are giving fans their first taste of the new set with the debut of standout track “Someone To Hate.”

A circle pit-inducing rampage with a thrash backbone, the dynamic “Someone To Hate” finds DEMON HUNTER taking their music’s most beloved aspects and pushing them to bold and exciting extremes. The track is an apt first impression of what lies in store for fans with the April 10 release of True Defiance, the band’s sixth album in 10 years.

Hear DEMON HUNTER’s ‘Someone To Hate’ here:

“‘Someone To Hate’ feels like a perfect first-glimpse at the new record,” says DEMON HUNTER frontman Ryan Clark. “At one point we were even debating on it being the album opener. It’s definitely a thrash song, but with a DEMON HUNTER twist. I think fans will dig it because it has a lot of classic DH elements, but it really pushes each of those elements to the max. It’s fast, it’s mean, it’s unapologetic… but of course, it has moments of melody as well.”

The release of the dynamic new track coincides with the availability of pre-order options for True Defiance, including a deluxe edition that includes two bonus tracks (“What Is Left” and “I Am a Stone”), a DVD featuring more than an hour of interviews, in- depth song discussions & acoustic performances, a 5-inch metal True Defiance pendant in a custom holder, a 20-page large format photo booklet, 12 individual lyric cards with illustration in metallic ink, and a two-sided fold-out poster with both regular-edition album covers, all contained in a heavy-duty 7x7-inch box.

Preorder options can be found here:

Produced by Aaron Sprinkle (ANBERLIN, EMERY) and mixed by Jason Suecoff (ALL THAT REMAINS, TRIVIUM), True Defiance finds DEMON HUNTER continuing in their hard rock evolution while embracing the components that have always formed the backbone of their music: true metal, dark rock and balladry.

The album marks a vital new chapter in the celebrated history of DEMON HUNTER, who are currently marking their 10th year of writing, breaking and erasing the rules of hard rock. Not ones to rest on their laurels, however, the members have created an album that not only lives up to their own lofty standards, but sets a new high-water mark for what DH is capable of.

"We’ve been extremely underwhelmed with metal for the last five years or so, and that’s been the fuel to create this record," Clark explains. "With an extreme over-saturation of false, fleeting, trend-hopping noise in today’s metal scene, we had to make something we’ve been longing to hear. Something truly meaningful and artistic. Something our fans would love and something that will turn the heads of those who have ignored us for the past decade."

True Defiance marks DEMON HUNTER's first outing since 2010's The World Is A Thorn, which debuted in the Billboard Top 40 and was hailed as the heaviest, fastest, and most aggressive record of the band’s career. The album yielded hit videos in "Collapsing," which has racked up 1 million views online, and "LifeWar," which was viewed over 100,000 times in the past month. The World is a Thorn was preceded by Storm the Gates of Hell (2007), The Triptych (2005), Summer of Darkness (2004) Demon Hunter (2002), and the three-disc CD / DVD set 45 Days, which collectively sold half a million copies and garnered airplay on college and specialty radio, Fuse and MTV2’s Headbangers Ball and earned the band cover features in publications like Revolver and HM.

As previously announced, DEMON HUNTER are preparing to embark on a string of European dates with support by DEADLOCK, NIGHTRAGE and INSENSE that sees the band visiting five countries.
