San Francisco indie-rock trio Geographer is gearing up for a summer headlining tour, with support from Carpark Records’ GRMLN, beginning August 8 in Portland, OR. The 3-week nationwide run is the follow-up to the band’s hugely successful headlining tour this past January, which saw them perform to sold out crowds in major cities including The Fillmore in San Francisco, Schubas in Chicago, The Echo in Los Angeles, The Mohawk in Austin and more. SF Weekly raves that their sets are “a surreal,” while The Bay Bridged declared, “Deni and the crew cast graceful, effervescent synth sounds and crystal-clear vocals over an undulating audience…a 90-minute (most likely drunken) dance party.” After the tour wraps, Geographer will be performing at the LAUNCH Festival in Sacramento, CA on September 8.

Geographer will be adding dates to the tour using concert crowd-funding start up WeDemand, which allows fans to participate in making shows happen! Don’t see your city listed here? Head to http://wedemand.com/geographer to demand a show in your city.

San Francisco indie-rock trio Geographer will kick off the New Year with a 3-week headlining tour beginning January 12 in Portland, OR. With direct support from ON AN ON, the dates will take the band throughout the West Coast and Midwest, with stops in Denver, Austin, Chicago, San Francisco, Los Angeles and more. This tour follows two very successful nationwide tours earlier this year that saw Geographer performing to sold out venues across the country.

Geographer continues to tour in support of their widely-praised new album MYTH, released earlier this year on Modern Art Records. The San Francisco Chronicle proclaims “pop music hasn’t seen such a seamless marriage between techno beats and swooning cello parts since…well, this might just be a first,” and Paste declares “their music seems equally comfortable in such disparate venus as wild dance clubs and quiet coffee shops.”

Geographer recently recorded a cover of Kate Bush's “Cloudbusting.”

Geographer teamed up with producer Eli Crews (tUnE-yArDs, Beulah, Why?, Deerhoof) and renowned mixer Chris Zane (Passion Pit, The Walkmen, Holy Ghost!, Tokyo Police Club) to scrupulously craft MYTH. The 10-song set features Mike Deni's distinct melodic vocals flirt with his dazed synth melodies and alluring guitar riffs; while Nathan Blaz's haunting electric cello cords, and Brian Ostreicher's vibrant drums blend together to help create the mind-altering, ten track album that is pulsating with complex poly-rhythms and stunning harmonies.
