As widely reported, LAMB OF GOD’s concert in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia scheduled for September 28th has been cancelled by the government, who refused to issue a permit for the show even though the concert had been on sale and had sold over 1,500 tickets.
LAMB OF GOD’s guitarist Mark Morton has issued the following statement regarding the decision by the Malaysian government. Shows scheduled in New Zealand, Australia, and Thailand will still be performed by the group:
“It is very evident (and a bit frustrating) that the groups, parties and powers that have taken the most offense to our music and lyrics, have themselves only made a passing glance at the content and meanings of those songs. We would invite anyone offended by our music to engage in a discussion regarding the true motivations behind our work, especially before publicly slandering us based on assumptions and shallow misinterpretation.
We sincerely apologize to our amazing fans in Malaysia for the cancellation. Many thanks to all who have spoken out in support of us through this.”

Nine Inch Nail’s newest release “Hesistation Marks” has proven to have taken the band’s sound in a different direction. What used to be recognized as a rock/alternative sound has now been turned into an ambient electronica album filled with programmed percussion as well as a lack of any certainty of traditional guitar and bass. But is this new direction a negative one? It seems some fans of the band are torn about the new sound, but others are supportive. Overall, this album is cohesive and immersible, but it may let down fans that were initially attracted to the band’s rock sound.
This album starts off by diving right into the electronic sound with their opener. As the rest of the album proceeds the listener will find most of the songs continue on in this electronic style with a different type of vocal style throughout. The new vocals have been controversial between many of the fans but overall it seem to fit the songs. The lyrics of the album as well as the melodies wrap tightly around the atmosphere that this album brings to the listener. Once able to get past the new sound and vocal style, “Hesitation Marks” can be very relaxing and exciting. “Disappointed” and “Everything” are songs that can really wrap up this album in just a few minutes. These songs represent the new sound and vocals well while still differentiating themselves from the other songs on the album.
Although the new style is alarming at first, most listeners will find themselves surprisingly satisfied with the direction Nine Inch Nails is taking their sound. Even I can admit at first that the lack of a solid rock sound is disappointing at first, but once you get into the swing of things, this album can be quite enjoyable. That being said, there are some downsides to this new direction. The monotonous programmed drums can be very repetitive throughout most of the album. Although the electronica feel of the album is intentional, the lack of variation in the electronic percussion can be annoying. Also, this album having very little natural guitar and bass can also be somewhat of a letdown. Is this an album by Nine Inch Nails? Or just a feature of the vocalist? Sometimes it seems like every song is almost entirely reliant on the vocals. Despite these cons, “Hesitation Marks” is still definitely an album to expand your comfortable criteria of music.
This album will open your mind to when a band changes their direction and will turn you on to the sounds of electronic ambiance. Even though this vocalist was originally known for hard vocals during their time as a rock band, this album shows a different side of the band as well as the vocals. This album is something to look into, and something to embrace. It takes a lot of courage for a band to take a new direction like this, so take a listen and enjoy the relaxing sounds of “Hesitation Marks”.

Nativ, featuring ex-members of Attack Attack! have written an introduction on the new band and an update on new music. View it below after the jump
Greetings friends!
We wanted to take a second and introduce ourselves to all of you.
We are Nativ!
Yes, it is true that some of us were members of Attack Attack!, but let us take a minute to clear the air.
As we’re sure you all know, Attack Attack had some serious shit happen to it through its career. Band members coming and going, tours postponed and canceled, and a host of other crazy-ass things that came with simply being AA!
I think you guys can all agree that by the time the final AA! tour came around, AA! had been looonnggg gone. We were dead on arrival.
Having taken that into account, we certainly were not finished making music. Not by a long shot.
So where did Nativ come from?
Well, part of the decision process in letting AA! go came from working on an album.
Wetzel and Whiting had started writing for a new record back in September 2012. By the time January 2013 rolled around, we were demoing tracks with Phil and Tyler. By February we had a solid album starting to take shape.
During the months of April/May, we took time off from writing to say goodbye to AA! on our European and US headliners.
When all the touring was done and we had finally put AA! to rest, Will joined Nativ to help us finish recording our debut record.
Originally, we thought we needed to write another AA! record, but what we found out was that we really wanted to write an album that is something new and different. We really wanted to take a step in a new direction. Get a fresh start.
We wanted to make something that wasn’t AA!. Something that AA! could never be.
So here we are!
We’re very excited to show you what we have and hopefully you will enjoy this experience with us even more than you/we did Attack Attack!
Thank you for reading and we hope to see you soon!
Love and respect,
-Nativ
