The Devil Wears Prada just announced a new show in Pittsburgh, PA on October 31st - to make it up to fans who had come to see them at last weekend’s Alliance Fest which they were forced to cancel.

In light of recently being forced to cancel Alliance Fest, we’ll be playing at Mr. Smalls on October 31st with all proceeds going to Community Human Services, the local affiliate of The National Coalition for the Homeless (www.chscorp.org). Butch Walker is recruiting local artists to open his September concerts in Atlanta, Nashville, Athens (GA), and Los Angeles. Details are below

"When you go out on the road, this is normally what happens: agents call, wanting to put so-and-so on your tour as the opening act, I pick one, they come out on the road and get to play on front of my fans, and maybe take a few of them home along with selling some shirts and cd’s.

In this case, for a few of the shows, I’m having a band called The Whiskey Gentry come and play with us at the last few dates of the Sept run: 9/9 DC, 9/10 NYC, and 9/11 Boston. What’s special about this is that once upon a time, in a Marvelous 3 world long ago, my old band headlined a huge festival in Atlanta called Music Midtown. There was a contest in the local radio station for a lucky fan to come sing a song during our set with us. Her name was Lauren Staley. She sang a song of ours while we backed her up and she brought the house down. Now, cut to years later, and what is Lauren doing now? She’s the lead singer of Atlanta’s own The Whiskey Gentry (who by the way, can sell out the same size venues I do now!!) and she’s become quite the performer and singer, and her band has their album coming out Sept 10th! Needless to say, I’m super proud of her and to see their band rise to popularity like they have, so I’d like to have them come play a few shows with me (I even sang a duet with her on the new record. It’s bitchin..).

Having said all of this, I thought I’d do something similar this time and have one local performer in each town come open my shows on the Sept tour.

This way, local audiences will see a local act, and if they don’t already know them, they get a chance to see what talent is in their own backyard. Here’s how you can be my support act in your town:

1. Submit a link to your music here: http://butchwalker.com/submit
2. Include your name, email, phone number in the description. As well as any other links (official website, Facebook, etc) in addition to where to listen to your music.

Please submit only if you are a LOCAL band/artist for the following cities/shows:

9/5 - Atlanta, GA @ Variety Playhouse
9/6 - Nashville, TN @ Mercy Lounge
9/7 - Athens, GA @ 40 Watt
9/17 - Los Angeles, CA @ Bootleg Theatre

DO NOT submit if you are not a member of the band.

See you soon and may the best woman/man win!

Butch”
