Newly formed rock band Get Involved! has announced today they have reached their goal on Kickstarter and will enter the studio next week to record their debut EP with famed producer Ross Robinson (At the Drive In, The Cure).

Over the last few weeks fans showed their support of the new project, which features members from influential bands Thursday, From Autumn To Ashes, Glassjaw and Judge, helping raise thousands to fund the recording and completion of the forthcoming EP.

“We are super excited to announce that we have met our Kickstarter goal,” says Brian Deneeve.  “Because of all of your help, we will begin recording our EP with Ross Robinson next week.  We plan on getting out there and playing as many shows as we can in the future.  We sincerely want to thank everyone who chose to believe in and become a part of this. We can’t wait for you all to hear what happens next!”

NYC rockers EVE TO ADAM have just released a new lyric video for their current single “Straitjacket Supermodel.” The video can be seen here. “Straitjacket Supermodel” is the first single off of the band’s forthcoming album, Locked and Loaded, which is available May 21st.

The band has this to say about their hard-hitting new single, “Straitjacket Supermodel was inspired by the TV show Dexter. We wrote a song that we envisioned would play in Dexter’s head as he prepares to kill. The song is still ETA, but with a more modern edge. It’s Eve to Adam 2.0.”

Locked and Loaded was produced by an All-Star cast of producers, including Dave Bassett, Eric Bass, and Elvis Baskette (Puddle of Mudd, Trivium, Chevelle), and is the follow up to 2011’s Banquet for a Starving Dog.

Buffalo, NY’s I Can See Mountains have wrapped up recording of their debut LP, Life On A Houseboat. The band spent the later part of 2012 on an enlightening journey to write a record that would define the bands core ingredients; heart, and music that puts a smile on the listeners face and a thought in their head.

Last week the band released their first offering from the LP, “I Play The Fox” with their self-made video on Youtube (www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=h3y8spAe_0Q) and this week, the band presents you with “One Big Table” on their Bandcamp page - http://icanseemountains.bandcamp.com.

I Can See Mountains, Life On A Houseboat is set for a release date of July 2nd, 2013 on Vinyl, CD and Digital formats through Panic Records.

On May 21st, 2013, The Story Changes bring a welcomed sunrise to the music of the last decade, as their artwork depicts from the band’s 3rd full-length studio album, Static And Trembling. The new album revisits ‘A Better Time In Music’ which sounds more like the greats of the 90’s than anything released in the previous ten years. The band find themselves echoing the sounds and songwriting skills of pinnacle 90’s artists like Smashing Pumpkins, Nirvana, Shiner, and more, while still maintaing a sense of their own identity.

Mark McMillon, the vocalist/guitarist of the two-piece, reminisces on the inception of the record; “From the earliest conversations going into the record between myself and my bandmate Chris, or “Poppy” as most of us call him, we knew we wanted the overall feel of the album to be a nod to the late-’90s alternative and punk scene that influenced us growing up.” Even the production on Static & Trembling at times seems to pay tribute to alternative music’s purer past, with tones that evoke the quintessential recordings of J. Robbins and Steve Albini.

Hell or Highwater, a band featuring the drummer of Atreyu now on vocals, were up first. It was a bit weird seeing Brandon rocking a mic and not a drumset but he knew how to get the crowd going; maybe Alex gave him some tips. During one of the songs, Brandon came down in the crowd and walked around a few times, high fiving several fans and taking quick photo ops while singing. The band, in my opinion, is basically Atreyu minus screaming, in my opinion which isn’t a bad thing at all.

In This Moment, a melodic metal band from California took the stage soon after setting up with some bizarre stuff. Vocalist Maria Brink came out in a revealing which seems to be the norm for her stage performances. She opted to use a wireless headset rather than a mic and sat in the middle of the stage on her “throne" of sorts. Corey Taylor came out dressed in a tuxedo with a bunny mask on to help out Maria with one of the songs. This was my first time seeing the band, so I wasn’t too familiar with the band’s material, but it’s easy to see why they’re one of the biggest female-led metal bands.

Stone Sour have been around for a good while. A majority of the crowd was older, middle aged people; some of which included married couples. Of course, there was that one guy who brought his kids and was being overprotective when a mosh pit started around them; I guess that’s what they get for standing right up around the front. The opening riff of “Gone Sovereign" played over the PA shortly before the rest of the band came out and played the rest of the song under the stars before launching right into "Absolute Zero”. Some might argue that Stone Sour’s new material sounds like Slipknot (aside from the fact of them sharing the same vocalist) but the truth is, they’ve always been heavy.

The new song, “Do Me A Favor" from the band’s latest effort, House of Gold & Bones – Part 2 fit in perfect with their set. I only wish they had performed more songs from the album. The highlight of the night for the crowd was when Corey asked them to help sing their next which happned to be “Say You’ll Haunt Me”. Later in the set, Corey came out by himself with an electric played a cover of Alice In Chains’ “Nutshell" before transitioning into "Bother" and my personal favorite, "Through Glass”. Corey mentioned that his comic book, “House of Gold & Bones"  has just come out and urged people to go to their local comic shop and pick it up. All in all, it was a great night with each band being a new experience for me; I suggest hitting up this tour if comes near your town!

Bridge 9 Records has started to prep for the Vans Warped Tour for yet another year. Read the statement below if you’re interested

Basically, you’d come before doors open, help me set up, distribute flyers, sell shit throughout the day, hold the tent down when I need to grab lunch and dinner, and help me break down and pack up at the end of the day. It doesn’t have to be that much work, and we can have a lot of fun. I need driven, motivated people that are gonna go out there with a good attitude and sell shit, not mope in the tent all day or disappear into the sea of burnt flesh and circlepits.

If you’re interested, shoot me an e-mail at sean (at) bridge9 dot com with the following information-

1) Your first and last name
2) Your e-mail address (this gets entertaining)
3) Your cellphone number (this is incredibly important, day-of)
4) A fun fact about you
5) Why you’d be a good volunteer-of-the-day for Bridge 9 (doesn’t have to be an essay)

Please DO NOT send me your resumes (that’s actually happened).

Thanks for reading/volunteering/replying!
