Gonzo grindcore terrorists AGORAPHOBIC NOSEBLEED have entered guitarist Scott Hull’s Visceral Sound Studios in Bethesda, MD to begin work on their highly anticipated new material for Relapse Records.  In true ANB fashion, the quartet will be giving zero fucks and releasing four independent full length albums, each in a completely different style and direction, representing the tastes and influences of each member of the band.  More details will be announced as they develop.

For the very first time ever on limited edition vinyl, I Am Shark, will be releasing the original soundtrack to Star Wars Episode 1: The Phantom Menace, scored by legendary composer John Williams. This will be part one of three, continuing on the latest trilogy soundtracks, as well as I Am Shark’s new face as an independent label for Film/TV/Game soundtracks. The release will be in 2xLP format, with limited color versions coordinating with characters through out the movies. I’ve attached mock up photos for a relative idea of what we have envisioned for the colors. Ship date: March 4th, 2013

50 limited bundle packages will be available with all colors/pressed versions, one random winner will receive a test press version of the album (only 10 test press copies exist).

This is a pre-order item, ship date TBA, but will be around estimated time depending on production and manufacturing delays. If you order this item along with in stock items, in stock items will be held and shipped together when this pre-order item is ready to ship.

On the night of January 9th, metalheads and scene kids alike converged at The Masquerade in Atlanta, GA to witness some of the most dominating names in metal What follows is a record of that night.

Emmure                                Credit to Matt Alexandre Photography

To be honest, I was never a fan of Emmure. I had always thought their guitar tabs were more or less binary code. I quickly changed my mind after seeing them. Frankie’s vocals were on par with the CD which impressed me a lot. They opened the show Solar Flare Homicide. The rest of their set included fan favorites such as Demons With Ryu,  I Thought You Met Telly and Turned Me Into Casper, R2 Deepthroat, and more.

Whitechapel’s set was a dream come true for their diehard fans. The first three songs they played were The Somatic Defilement, Vicer Exciser, and Prostatic Fluid Asphyxiation. Phil mentioned that their first show ever was with Emmure, so this was basically coming back full circle. This was my 5th seeing Whitechapel and Phil’s vocals were top notch compared to the last time I had saw them with Hatebreed/All Shall Perish where they had toured 3 weeks straight with no days off. I found it kinda odd that none of the band mentioned the fact that they re-mixed and re-mastered The Somatic Defilement. It’s worth noting that Phil called for not one, but TWO wall of deaths during Whitechapel’s set. I’m pretty sure everyone  was drained after they played. pics from their set

I had first saw Unearth last year on their headliner with Born of Osiris so I was excited to see them again. They came out in full force opening my favorite song, My Will Be Done. The Massachusetts metal band warmed up the crowd with songs such as Giles, Eyes of Black, The Great Dividers, and more. Definitely hoping they get to headline another tour soon.

Obey The Brave, the Canadian hardcore band got the dancers going in the pit. I feel this band would be more formidable if they toured with bands in their respective genre. I’m sure everyone wishes Alex would reunite Despised Icon instead.

The Plot In You opened the show; wasn’t real impressed. Just one breakdown after another. Landon wrote a song about Austin Carlile and they didn’t even bother to play it; all that hype for nothing.

Ronnie Winter made an announcement regarding his faith and what direction the band is going in; it can be seen below.

Hello, just wanted to let a few friends on here know that 2013 is our 10 year mark as a band. A lot of things have changed over the years in the band and my life personally. Our most recent release has crossed us into the christian rock genre because that is were we want to be( I know I have not always exemplified those qualities but have made big strides to do so and will continue to work on my testimony). Thanks for sticking by us and our new spiritual direction. If you want to know more about my faith or why we have made these changes feel free to message me here or on twitter = @ronnieapparatus as well as on redjumpsuit.com. Thanks for reading.

Flyleaf recently launched a collaborative art project on their Facebook page. The band is asking fans to bring the “New Horizons” track artwork (which was created by bassist Pat Seals) to life by coloring it by hand or on photoshop, and then posting the finished piece on Instagram using #flyleaffanart. One hand picked winner will receive an original print framed and signed by Pat. To download the artwork and add your own personal touch visit the contest page here.
