The ROCKSTAR ENERGY DRINK MAYHEM FESTIVAL is proud, once again, to announce the METAL OF HONOR program, an awareness and fundraising effort focused on the needs and challenges of our active military, veterans and their families. The ROCKSTAR ENERGY DRINK MAYHEM FESTIVAL believes strongly in honoring our country’s servicemen and women with these efforts as a way to say thank you for the services they provide on a day-to-day basis, overseas and on U.S. soil.

ROCKSTAR ENERGY DRINK MAYHEM FESTIVAL producers John Reese and Kevin Lyman stated, “Giving back and showing gratitude to those that have sacrificed for all of us and those who continue to sacrifice is the message we want to spread.”

As a major part of the program this year, the ROCKSTAR ENERGY DRINK MAYHEM FESTIVAL will be making lawn tickets available that will have a direct impact on a charity in your local market! Beginning Friday, June 22 at 10am and continuing for 72 hours, a donation will be made to your local charity for each individual lawn ticket sold through the TEXT TO DONATE program! Text MAYHEM to 41518 to make a $5 donation to METAL OF HONOR and be entered to win a METAL OF HONOR Meet & Greet with Slipknot (details coming soon)!

Additionally, as part of the 2012 METAL OF HONOR program, the ROCKSTAR ENERGY DRINK MAYHEM FESTIVAL is helping promote the goal of HIRING OUR HEROES. The METAL OF HONOR tent, located in the festival area, will have a local US Chamber of Commerce representative at each venue providing information on local companies actively seeking to hire veterans.

All military veterans attending the festival are invited to go to the METAL OF HONOR tent, located in the festival area, to obtain their METAL OF HONOR wristband. The METAL OF HONOR wristband will identify them as veterans for the crew, bands and fellow patrons. The METAL OF HONOR tent will provide information on the various ways the tour, sponsors and bands are showing their appreciation to them that day. Each veteran will receive a raffle ticket to win a personalized commemorative plaque to be presented to one of these hometown heroes, on the main stage, to thank them for their service and sacrifice!

To get your tickets and make a difference, visit www.rockstarmayhemfest.com, www.livenation.com, the Box Office at your local 2012 ROCKSTAR ENERGY DRINK MAYHEM FESTIVAL venue, or charge by phone and use the password HONOR.

Just days after the release of their new video for “Amend,” THE OVERSEER bring another hard rock reckoning in the form of “Vulture” – the third preview track from their upcoming debut, We Search, We Dig – streaming now via heavy music taste-maker Revolver.

“Vulture” finds the Arkansas outfit firing on all cylinders with all the the traits for which they’ll soon be known on full display - pummeling riffage seamlessly giving way to expansive melody anchored by a knack for knowing when to let the song breathe and when to reach back and smack the listener in the face.
Listen to ‘Vulture’:

“‘Vulture’ was the last song that we wrote for the album,” says bassist Bradley Riggs. “We actually wrote it in the studio and it turned out great, with a hard-hitting intro and a bridge that was unlike anything we’d done before. It has a heavy DEFTONES sort of feel to it and I think listeners will hear the versatility of our influences and writing style.”

Recorded earlier this year at Atlanta’s Glow In The Dark studios, We Search, We Dig is a huge, dynamic debut that calls to mind artists like UNDER0ATH, THRICE and CAVE IN though with a clear, distinct voice that never emulates those artists directly. With this release, THE OVERSEER delivers hard-hitting, uncompromising hard rock that belies the members’ young age. This isn’t “cash in on the latest trend” music, it’s “sweat and tears” hard rock, with a little blood thrown in for good measure.

Now, with the album’s release on the horizon, THE OVERSEER has gone back to doing the OTHER thing they do best: Tour, tour and tour, taking their music and their spiritually-minded message to eager fans. In support of the album, the band will hit the road this June and July as part of the More Than Sound tour, headlined by WAR OF AGES.

With the release of We Search, We DigTHE OVERSEER is firmly planting their flag as a future genre frontrunner.

Christofer Drew of Never Shout Never announced last night (June 13th) that after his recent arrest for marijuana possession, he now has two felonies and now will no longer be able to tour overseas for the time being.

"I was totally humbled by this last week, it was just really intense. I got arrested and I might not be able to go overseas for a very long time, and that was kind of my whole plan for the summer, was to play these out of country shows, and maybe do some time exploring them. So I had a really awesome plan for that, but I got arrested and I have two felonies under my belt. I’ve got like 10 attorneys on it right now, so they’re working it out for me the best they can, but it’s looking like we’re probably going to have to cancel our South American tour, our Mexican tour, and a couple other things. So I’ve just been very humbled and I’ve been trying to get back to … I guess the reasons why I still do this.

I’ve stopped taking hard drugs, and I was taking quite a few for a long time. I realized that it was kind of pushing away the people that I love, and that’s the last thing that I’ve ever wanted to do.”
