For starters, what bands were you guys a part of prior to The City Limit? How long has the band been around?

Anthony: I was in a band called Awjita, a progressive metal band.

Scott: This is my first serious band. I was just writing songs aimlessly before this project, really.

What’s the origin of that name and have you changed the band’s name before?

Scott: I was watching Austin City Limits, the Stevie Ray Vaughan & Double Trouble episode, specifically, when I came up with the idea for the name. Anthony has been desperately trying to change the name, unsuccessfully, every since.

Who writes your songs? What are the main themes or topics for most of your songs and do you think these topics will change over time?

Anthony: Scott and I generally co-write the songs and the other guys will chime in with creative twists.

Scott: They’re generally written about real life experiences and whatever we happen to be going through at the time. We tend to write a lot about people and interpersonal relationships, which I think makes the songs easier to relate to.

What bands are currently inspiring the music that you’re making?

Scott: Lately I've been really into this band Lawrence, who are based out of NYC. Great band, super soulful and funky. Also a lot of Neil Young, a lot of Grateful Dead, a lot of Motown; all of which is kind of just a constant in this band in terms of what we listen to.

Anthony: Jamiroquai.

Was there a particular band/artist or concert that inspired you to start a band?

Scott: For me, I first wanted to be in a band when I started listening to Oasis when I was a teenager, but I didn't really start taking guitar seriously until I first listened to Stevie Ray Vaughan's "Live in Tokyo" album a couple years after that.

Anthony: I always knew I wanted to be in a band since I was a kid, particularly after I heard Guns & Roses for the first time when I was about 6 years old.

What do you do to prepare for a show? Any flexing, exercises, eat …

Anthony: Nothing crazy. We usually just meet up, have a few drinks, and write out a set list.

What has been the biggest highlight of the band’s career so far?

Scott: Recording our first EP remains the coolest and most rewarding musical experience I've been a part of. It was amazing watching the songs come to life, especially with the talents of such incredible musicians as Sean Meyers and Matt Meyers, who played drums and keys on the record, respectively. Anthony's bass playing was pretty fucking good, too, I guess.
