Unsigned Spotlight: Midnight Foolishness

Please list all of your band members and their roles in the band.
Julio - Drums
Rob – Vocals/Guitar
Mike - Guitar
Lou - Bass
For starters, what bands were you guys a part of prior to Midnight Foolishness? How long has the band been around?
Julio and Rob were both in Brooklyn based progressive metal band Candiria (Metal Blade Records). As Midnight Foolishness, we released our debut album in 2017.
What’s the origin of that name and have you changed the band’s name before?
The band has been the same since day one and has no particular story behind it.
Who writes your songs? What are the main themes or topics for most of your songs and do you
Rob and Mike write the majority of the music. Thematically we often look at interpersonal ideas of love, friendships, relationships.
Do you think these topics will change over time?
For sure. We continue to evolve and write about topics that resonate with us as the time.
What bands are currently inspiring the music that you’re making?
We’d hate to name them because we know most of them!
Was there a particular band/artist or concert that inspired you to start a band?
The punk scene had a particularly significant impact on me and inspired me to get into the industry. In particular I’d say Green Day and The Ramones were key.
What do you do to prepare for a show? Any flexing, exercises, etc …
No, we just go out there and play!
What has been the biggest highlight of the band’s career so far?
We were stoked to play two night with the legendary CKY at Starland Ballroom in New Jersey and Sherman Theater in PA last year. Both shows were sold out. Another highlight was playing with Eidola at 89 North in Long Island.
If you could tour with any bands, past or present, who would they be and why?
Dance Gavin Dance because we know them really well. Andrew Wells is a real inspiration and an amazing friend!
Is there anything else you would like to add?
Thank you for having us! Check out our band new music video, “Wishing You The Worst”, out now!
