Please list all of your band members and their roles in the band.

Josh Darling - guitar

Buco - vocals

Tim Booras - bass

For starters, what bands were you guys a part of prior to Lords of Dust? How long has the band been around?

We were all in local garage bands in and out of the local rock scene in Southern California in the early 2000’s, and recently formed about 4 years ago

What’s the origin of that name and have you changed the band’s name before?

The band's name is the insignificant tail end of the ridiculously long name that we were throwing around in the beginning of the band's inception. It doesn’t mean much other than a “kings of nothing” theme. Pretty standard stuff.

Who writes your songs? What are the main themes or topics for most of your songs and do you think these topics will change over time?

The band writes 99% of the instrumentation,  and Buco writes 95% percent of the lyrics. Lyrics get peppered in by the band members,  topics are usually shouted out during rehearsal.  Topics will always change because new things are important to people everyday.

What bands are currently inspiring the music that you’re making?

Any band new or old with loud heavy riffs, big drums, and great vocals. We enjoy all genres of music, It’s super important to the band that the influence from other bands is free flowing and not restricted by taste or trend. If it’s bad, it’s bad, and we shouldn’t listen to it, so we know where not to go.

Was there a particular band/artist or concert that inspired you to start a band?

Everything radical we listened to when we were young influenced us to start a band from Black Flag, Minor Threat, Motorhead, Black Sabbath, Nirvana,  Mountain, the list goes on.

What do you do to prepare for a show? Any flexing, exercises, ect …

High fives. We really practice hard.

What has been the biggest highlight of the band’s career so far?

Riding our motorcycles 800 miles, playing a show in front of people that really seemed to like what we're doing.  And also, being interviewed by people interested in the music that we’re making is pretty surreal, you don’t ever expect people to like the music you make and when they do, it’s always the only highlight you need.

If you could tour with any bands, past or present, who would they be and why?

Motorhead. They could teach us a thing or two. Maybe Dolly Parton or Jerry Reid, but definitely Motorhead.

Is there anything else you would like to add?

Thank you for your interest in DIY music. LET’S RIP !!!
