Please list all of your band members and their roles in the band.
Greg Fiasco - producer, mix/master engineer, songwriter
For starters, what bands were you guys a part of prior to (insert band/artist name here)? How long has the band been around?
I have been making music for about five years now, but I rebranded very recently.
What’s the origin of that name and have you changed the band’s name before?
Greg Fiasco. Honestly, there’s not much meaning to that name. The only reason I chose it is because it sounds catchy and commercial. I used to make music under my real name, Gregorio Torres.
Who writes your songs? What are the main themes or topics for most of your songs and do you think these topics will change over time?
Writing is not a strong for me, so I do get help. Usually, I tell the vocalist or writer what I want the lyrics to be about (more of this in a second). Then (s)he either sends me a rough draft for me to edit, or we change it together; I’ll be telling them what I want to express, like a guide. We then repeat this process until I am satisfied with how the vocals fit in the song.
What bands are currently inspiring the music that you’re making?
Some modern bands that inspire me would be Brockhampton, and The Internet; I mostly listen to solo artists. Some artists that really inspire me would include J. Cole, Mac Miller, Tyler the Creator, Ty Dolla $ign, Bas, Pell, Anderson .Paak, Travis Scott, Will Smith, Aminé, J Balvin, Ozuna, among others.
Was there a particular band/artist or concert that inspired you to start a band?
No one in particular, but thinking on the fact that I was able to create songs on my own really made it magical.
What do you do to prepare for a show? Any flexing, exercises, etc …
I just try to have fun before performing. I believe that a performer has the power to transmit energy to his or her crowd. So why not transmit good energy?
What has been the biggest highlight of the band’s career so far?
Seeing music that I created, making it into the Spotify viral 50 charts.
If you could tour with any bands, past or present, who would they be and why?
Mac Miller, definitely. I love his music and the vibe he transmits with it. I would also tour with Kanye West. His shows are fucking amazing. Besides loving his music, I want to chat with him to truly understand his thinking.
Is there anything else you would like to add?
Thank you for having me. Make sure to go check out my new song, “Devils in the Ghetto” dropping on November 2nd!
