Career Spotlight: Michael Caplan (Record Rabbi)

Michael Caplan’s “ears” are widely respected within the music business.  He began his career as Operations manager for the legendary Morris Levy’s Strawberries Record chain and from there entered the major label system in the Sales department at Polygram and then on to Sony Music’s Epic Records promotion department.

His dream was always to be in A&R and he rose to the top at Epic Records becoming the SVP of A&R for Sony’s Epic and then later Columbia labels.  The years since Sony have seen him starting and running his own independent labels, Or Music and Elm City Music to great success.
