Frontman Andrew Joyce and drummer Chad Miller met during their tenure in the beloved Merry Go Rounds. Shortly after concluding a tour of the east coast, Andrew and Chad decided to form a band where the guitars make the same sounds as someone surfing. Joined by Chris Young on bass, they didn't succeed, but they accidentally wrote an EP's worth of songs that subvert the surf rock genre by fusing it with punk and swing elements.
