Exclusive Video Premiere: Gold Steps - "Misery Loves Company"
Tried and true Austin, TX based pop-punk act, Gold Steps has paired up with Kill The Music today to release their latest music video for their song "Misery Loves Company". Gold Steps has roots deeply embedded in the Austin music scene, but have slowly but surely started to take over the hearts of the rest of the country playing in the surrounding cities in Texas.
The song is a bouncy, upbeat number that deals with the complexities of having a mental breakdown and how it effects all parties involved. "Asking what have I become?", a lyric that particularly encapsulates the essence of the meaning behind the song, knowing you've gotten to a place that you're unsure if you'll be able to pull yourself out of. Vocalist, Liz Mauritz explains that:
While unrelated to the meaning, the video itself showcases a much different side to Gold Steps, giving you a glimpse of what it's like to spend time with the band. The video is high energy, bright, and fun, giving you a little taste of punk kids meet the lifestyles of the rich and famous.
