We Burn Bridges Take Listeners On A Murderous Journey With New Single, "Death Curse"
Darwin heavy act, We Burn Bridges deliver a thundering blow on latest single "Death Curse" featuring rapper and ex-member, BxK.
Returning to the fold of Australia's heavy music scene with previous single "Predator", which secured the band as feature artist at triple j Unearthed earlier this year, We Burn Bridges it follow up with another adrenaline pumping single. Consistent in groove and riffage, "Death Curse" features rapper BxK who spits honest and aggressive rap over a pummelling backbone, giving "Death Curse" a nu-metal edge.
Mastered by Grant Berry (Eat Your Heart Out, Ithaca, All Time Low) and produced and mixed in-house by guitarist Manolis Kamitsis, "Death Curse" draws on the bands love for 80s retro action films and narrates both sonically and lyrically the horror chase of a murderer on the hunt for new victims and the climatic moments leading up to the final kill.
We Burn Bridges strive to stand out with their unique and diverse sound while breathing new life into Darwin's music scene. Vocalist Jack Ryan elaborates: “We’re excited to be releasing steady singles and playing shows to keep us on our toes and pump life back into the heavy scene up here in Darwin. We strive to not marry ourselves to a genre and have some other elements bleed into our music. For the most part, we are very much a heavy oriented band."
While Darwin is known for its heat and yearly monsoon season, it's become hard to sleep on its explosive music scene. Out of the tight-knit music circuit, We Burn Bridges formed back in 2012 by a group of keen, young, like-minded friends in school.
In 2016, single 'Coward' was nominated for Northern Territory's Heavy Song Of The Year. Shortly after, We Burn Bridges debut EP 'Head Prison' was released in 2019 and has garnered over 210,000 Spotify streams, high praise from Aussie media including Wall Of Sound when they said: "These guys might be the hottest thing to come out of Australia’s Top End for 2019", GC Live looked toward the future in saying, "We’re all looking forward to see what’s to come in the future for these boys. It’s still early stages for them, but after a release like this, it can only go up from here" and Maniacs highlighted "You generally don't often hear of many bands coming out of Darwin, but We Burn Bridges are a killer example of the city's hidden gems."
Since their inception, We Burn Bridges has played alongside the likes of Northlane, Polaris, Hellions and Dream On, Dreamer to name just a few. We Burn Bridges played TerrorLoud One alongside Alpha Wolf, Diamond Construct and Lune in May and supported In Hearts Wake last weekend in Darwin on the 'GREEN IS THE NEW BLACK' tour with RedHook, Pridelands and Banks Arcade.
"Death Curse" is available now and streaming on all platforms.
