Varg Vikernes Found Guilty In French Court
Varg Vikernes, the infamous black metal figure known for the murder of Euronymous and the alleged arson of three churches in Norway, has been found guilty in a French court for allegedly inciting racial hatred and glorifying war crimes via blog posts. Vikernes, whom has been living in the country for the past four years, was arrested last July for racist, xenophobic, and anti-Semitic posts on the Internet, which is currently illegal in France. During the trial, which took place last month, Vikernes proclaimed he was innocent of the crimes and claimed that the blog in question was the work of impersonators. The court has given Vikernes a six-month suspended prison term and a fine of €8,000, which is roughly $10,000. Vikernes nor his lawyer was not present in the court for the verdict and has yet to release a statement about said verdict.
