For starters, what bands were you guys a part of prior to Your Persona? How long has the band been around?

The band has honestly been the main  focus for us since 2012. Matt started it as an acoustic project in 2008-10, took two years off, and brought a band in under the same name. 2012 is when we found the current line up we have now.

What’s the origin of that name and have you changed the band’s name before?

Matt thought of the name randomly one day and we've never thought of a change since.

Who writes your songs? What are the main themes or topics for most of your songs and do you think these topics will change over time?

Matt and Jose mainly focus on the structure and melody of our songs on guitar. Matt finishes lyrics and alters the final structure appropriately to his vox melody.

When it comes to themes or topics on our songs, we seem to focus a lot on things like loved ones we've lost, battling personal vices, depression,  the varied impacts they have on us, and many other things. also in some instances we get a little humanitarian reminding everyone to be more conscious and self aware about what's going on in the world/society. These topics will no doubt change as we get older and experience new things.

What bands are currently inspiring the music that you’re making?

A lot of bands influence us in our writing. Honestly, we probably don't even realize while writing which bands have subconsciously influenced us. If we had to name three bands I guess I'd say The Used, Thrice, and The Early November

Was there a particular band/artist or concert that inspired you to start a band?

Matt - There are so many bands that have inspired me to start a band. Growing up, Finch's first record "What it is to Burn" was my all time favorite for awhile. That album most definitely inspired me to start a band. Another band that has equally inspired me over the years was The Early November. I first heard them on MTV and loved it from that day on. It wasn't until a year later that I found out they were from my hometown and now we are recording a record with their lead singer Ace Enders. It reminds me how small the world actually is.

Jose - I was 15 when I heard The Early Novmeber "Decorations" play. When my friends told me they're from our hometown, it changed my life. I felt empowered and alive as if anything is possible.

Jeremy - yes. I'd say the two bands that inspired me the most to start a band would be The Used and Poison The Well

Tyler - Band - Senses Fail Live Concert - The Venetia Fair

What do you do to prepare for a show?

Matt- I have a series of vocal warm-ups I do. I also like to stretch and do sit ups to get the blood flowing

Jose- whatever matt does, but usually stretching trying to get everyone hype.

Jeremy- I warm up using a drum pad

Tyler-maintain myself in a calm environment to stay focused before playing, eat a meal or drink plenty of water beforehand and set up early to be prepared

What has been the biggest highlight of the band’s career so far?

We have played a lot of really amazing shows but we'd have to say that the TLA in Philadelpiha with Enter Shikari & Being as an Ocean takes the cake

If you could tour with any bands, past or present, who would they be and why?

The Used, Thrice, The Early November.

Those three bands alone would be an incredible line up and have all inspired us in many ways.

Is there anything else you would like to add?

Matt - If you got down this far in the interview, you are awesome. Thank you! Check out our YouTube channel and listen to some jams on Spotify/Apple Music!

Tyler- be ambitious, do what you love and try not to care too much about what other people think because you can’t set the bar for yourself if you follow the same standards as everyone else

Jose - Just that we appreciate the time anyone took to read this and thank you to everyone who continues to support us
