For starters, what bands were you guys a part of prior to Viboras? How long has the band been around?

Sal and Beppe - Berenice Beach

Irene and Gio - Darby Crash

Viboras were born in 2003, published our first album in 2005, went on hiatus from 2009 to 2015 and then published two more albums in 2015 and 2018...let's say we've been active for a decade anyways!

What’s the origin of that name and have you changed the band’s name before?

Never changed it, we kept on coming up with horrible lame names for the first rehearsals til someone said "vipers" and someone else said it would be cooler in spanish, Viboras. It really is a lot cooler hahahah

Who writes your songs? What are the main themes or topics for most of your songs and do you think these topics will change over time?

Well, I (Irene) wrote our last album but we all arranged the songs. I mainly talk about what happens in a day, what happened and haunts me, what I want to let out clearly and directly. As long as I don't drink my brain and start singing about dumb shallow stuff I have no issue with the idea of changing topics in the future if it's not forced upon me

What bands are currently inspiring the music that you’re making?

Backyard Babies and Rattlesnakes. I feel the need to infuse new ideas in my style, so I'm listening to loads of different things, Devil In Me to Tom Petty

Was there a particular band/artist or concert that inspired you to start a band?

Before even knowing what genre we liked we already knew we wanted to play. Just needed to find a direction! If you keep an open mind and listen to whatever you want you'll eventually find the style that suits you, and maybe even change it to your liking 

What do you do to prepare for a show? Any flexing, exercises, ect …

Not really, we're not stage crickets or anything. I do warm up my voice, cause if you strain it you're in big trouble, but apart from that I'd say we just go and kill it, whatever it be after that. But I wouldn't get on stage straight after eating for sure!

What has been the biggest highlight of the band’s career so far?

We had many highs in our years of playing, like at a festival here, Rock in Idro, in front of a huge crowd that was jumping and pogoing and stagediving and making noise and singing our songs! First time I saw someone sing songs I had written...I'm pretty positive the best highlights are yet to come though

If you could tour with any bands, past or present, who would they be and why?

Well, our favorite bands would be a huge thing, the ones we looked up to as kids like Misfits, Rancid, Social D.

I would push it further and say Tom Petty, Strummer's the Clash, artists that unfortunately we won't hear live anymore but that would be a well of experience and good stories
