For starters, what bands were you guys a part of prior to UNDER THE SKIN? How long has the band been around?

Yann and me have spent 7 years in a band called WISHES. After the band stopped we have started to work alone… Yann was making me listened to his songs and I was doing the same… one day we’ve decided, as we love each other’s work, to work together again.

What’s the origin of that name and have you changed the band’s name before?

We wanted something with a meaning and also a name composed. Yann wanted the same, So we sat around a table drinking some glasses of whisky and we have tried to find a name...We’ve found the name quickly. It’s the same from the beginning and we don’t want to change it. We love this name, don’t you?

Who writes your songs? What are the main themes or topics for most of your songs and do you think these topics will change over time?

Yann and me. We write the songs… sometimes he brings just a part or a full song, I do the same… I write the lyrics. I talk about feelings, things that I live… That I see…anything… so the topics already change all the time.

What bands are currently inspiring the music that you’re making?

Well, I don’t know… sometimes I listen a band or a song... and then that’s give me an idea… but music in general, inspires us… not a band only… but there is new bands, Dallas Frasca, Fuck Buttons, Hidden Orchestra. I don’t know if they are really new but I’ve just discovered them and I like their music……sometimes I tell Yann about them.. he listens, and can be inspired by them… or not…likes them or not.. no rules.

Was there a particular band/artist or concert that inspired you to start a band?

Yes and I remember it like it was yesterday…!! I was 13 or 14… it was not really easyto watch video clips or listen to new band at this time.. Anyway, I was watching TV and saw the video clip for Zombie by the cranberries! Haha.  it has been a real electro choc! I remember, I said to my mother, I want to play guitar, and in my head I was like! Oh my God, this girl is such a badass, I want to do the same! Haha… One year after I was in my first band and I’ve never stopped since.

What do you do to prepare for a show? Any flexing, exercises, ect …

I warm ma voice for 15-20 minutes, change my clothes, have few drinks, and I stay with the guys… then we hug and we go. we are always really excited before going on stage, so we need to stay together to keep this energy with us.

What has been the biggest highlight of the band’s career so far?

Well the band is pretty new so…For me I would say the huge support and encouragements that we had when the project of this band has been revealed.

If you could tour with any bands, past or present, who would they be and why?

Oh… I don’t know… all the bands that I love!! Ok I choose 3! Tool, Incubus, the Foo Fighters. Tool because I love them unconditionally … I think it could be formative to play with them, Incubus because I like them but I know that Yann loves them and they are very important for him as a musician, and the Foo fighters, because Dave Grohl seems to be a very nice and funny guy...and I'm also a fan of their music, just like Yann.
