Unsigned Spotlight: Tracy Grave
Please list all of your band members and their roles in the band.
We are 5 members: Tracy Grave (Lead voice), Mark Shovel (Lead guitar), Enea Grave (Rhythmic guitar), Nero Viper (Bass) and Hurricane John (Drum).
For starters, what bands were you guys a part of prior to Tracy Grave? How long has the band been around?
Tracy was part of the "Hollywood Pornostar" project and "Lethal Poison", and Mark was part of the "Getaway" project. The others are all minor projects that have been short-lived! Tracy Grave, as a band, was born in 2017.
What’s the origin of that name and have you changed the band’s name before?
The band takes its name from the solo Tracy Grave project, which is inspired by Tracy Chapman and the dark atmosphere of the graveyard, in fact, Grave. We have decided to keep this name to carry on the project already started. The name was always the same.
Who writes your songs? What are the main themes or topics for most of your songs and do you think these topics will change over time?
Until now, Tracy and Mark have written the songs, we are talking about "Sleazy Future", while "In the mirror of soul" was written entirely by Tracy. Mark takes care of the music and Tracy writes the lyrics. We help each other in some cases. The lyrics speak about emotions, life stories, things that we have experienced personally. In 20 years, the lyrics of the songs will always have the same meaning, we are talking about emotions!
What bands are currently inspiring the music that you’re making?
Mainly, we can mention Bon Jovi, Guns n' Roses, Sixx:A.M., Hanoi Rock and Faster Pussycat. We listen a lot of different music, but these are the
most influential bands!
Was there a particular band/artist or concert that inspired you to start a band?
Definitely the bands that we mentioned a moment ago, those that give us inspiration. We can add bands like Misfits, Skid Row, Iron Maiden, Cinderella and many others! About concert, we can talk about Guns n' Roses live in Tokyo 92' or live Ritz 88, Bon Jovi live Moscow 89,
Iron Maiden live Hammersmith 82 and Death on the Road 2005!
What do you do to prepare for a show? Any flexing, exercises, ect …
Generally we are a little together and drink something before going on stage, no particular ritual, at least for the moment. Everyone does a little technical warm up to get warm on stage.
What has been the biggest highlight of the band’s career so far?
Surely the most important highlight is now with "Sleazy Future", we have a lot of fans out of our country, and the radios are crazy about the album! We are preparing a great tour, so the best is yet to come!
If you could tour with any bands, past or present, who would they be and why?
Going on tour with Guns n' Roses would certainly be a great thing! I think they are our greatest inspiration, they have had a great impact on our lives, we'll be great meet them and go on tour together.
Is there anything else you would like to add?
We would like to thank all the people who follow us and support us, we thank you for this interview and we hope to see all of you at one of our live shows! We are waiting for you for an unforgettable rock night! Stay rock
