For starters, what bands were you guys a part of prior to Through The Silence? How long has the band been around?

André Lopes, Vitor Parreira and Valente Fagundes were in Mermaid Killed Monster, Edgar Fernandes was in Somnivm and Pedro Freitas was in The Truth About The Mind. Through The Silence has been around for 2 years.

What’s the origin of that name and have you changed the band’s name before?

We wrote down a considerable amount of names and ended up mixing two or three of them to get our name. Our name has never been changed.

Who writes your songs? What are the main themes or topics for most of your songs and do you think these topics will change over time?

The main ideas come from guitar riffs done by Pedro and Vitor, then André writes the lyrics along with Pedro. The main themes and topics of our songs revolve around each members life experiences, however, we might approach something in particular concerning the actual world!

What bands are currently inspiring the music that you’re making?

We all like a variety of bands and genres, but our music is mainly inspired by Killswitch Engage, As I Lay Dying, The Sorrow and Caliban.

Was there a particular band/artist or concert that inspired you to start a band?

Mainly the ones mentioned above.

What do you do to prepare for a show? Any flexing, exercises, ect …

The only positive thing might be vocal warm ups, as for bad things, we probably drink a couple of shots or whatever comes in handy!

What has been the biggest highlight of the band’s career so far?

We spent pretty much all of 2014 recording our debut EP, that's really special for us because we set that goal up right from the start.

If you could tour with any bands, past or present, who would they be and why?

We would probably be very happy to go on tour with anyone, but if we could choose i'm pretty sure we would love to be around Killswitch Engage!

Is there anything else you would like to add?

Thank you for the feature, we'll be glad to accept further ones in the future, spread the word and keep the spirit alive! Rock on.
