For starters, what bands were you guys a part of prior to Restless Streets? How long has the band been around?

The majority of us have been playing music together for 10 years. We had all played in various different local bands as little kids when we were trying to figure out what we wanted to do. Aaron was in a really cool band called "The Primrose Path" before he joined RS.

What’s the origin of that name and have you changed the band’s name before?

The name has never changed. The city of Albany has a very active nightlife. We all share fond memories with each other celebrating life in these streets together, sometimes (usually) all night long. We've always tried to embody that spirit in our music.

Who writes your songs? What are the main themes or topics for most of your songs and do you think these topics will change over time?

Brandon(Guitar) provides the rest of us with skeleton demos. We use those as a foundation and Logan writes the melodies, and lyrics. If something needs to be changed to fit the vocals better we may tweak the songs. From there everyone adds their own flair to their section, and everything comes together.

What bands are currently inspiring the music that you’re making?

Inspiration comes from every angle. There's so much content out there today, we keep open minds. We will always treasure the music we grew up with but we like to keep it new and exciting. Logan is really into artists like Blackbear, Mansionz, and a lot of mainstream pop right now. Drawing some influence from R&B. Meanwhile, Brandon and Brian are interested in rave culture and EDM.

Was there a particular band/artist or concert that inspired you to start a band?

Each of us were deeply inspired by local bands and local shows growing up. Logan used to watch his big brother pay in a band growing up, and Brian lived next door to his favorite local band's drummer. Seeing our friends and family play made it real for us, the rest is history,

What do you do to prepare for a show? Any flexing, exercises, etc…

Before taking the stage we definitely like to make sure we are properly hydrated and loosed up. Our physical condition is obvious, however, even more important, is mental focus.

What has been the biggest highlight of the band’s career so far?

Any and every tour we have ever been apart of was a blast. We love the feeling of being on the road. Being able to put yourself and sound in a part of the world that it may never reached otherwise is what its all about. Meeting the fans and talking to them, seeing new places.

If you could tour with any bands, past or present, who would they be and why?

Past: Probably Queen. Because... Freddie Mercury is one of the most talented, and energetic performers, and songwriters that we've seen. Current: 1975. Their songs and live show are so electrifying, they are such incredible musicians, and their live show takes their already impressive sound to a whole other dimension.

Is there anything else you would like to add?

We have worked incredibly hard developing a new sound for this cd throughout the past year. The physical packaging for the cd is something that we are most excited about. It comes with a beautiful 8 page booklet of exclusive R//S photographs, and lyrics. We cannot wait to share this with the world, and connect with people through our sound.  Please go to Merchnow.com/catalogs/restless-streets and preorder our EP 'Together' Also check out our upcoming shows at Facebook.com/restlessstreets
