For starters, how long has the band been around?

Reckoning Hour is a melodic metalcore band from Rio de Janeiro formed in 2012.

What’s the origin of that name and have you changed the band’s name before? What are the main themes or topics for most of your songs and do you think these topics will change over time?

The name Reckoning Hour comes from the idea of a settling of scores, a moment of truth. Underneath the lyrics are a depiction of conflicting themes and overcoming adversity.

What bands are currently inspiring the music that you’re making?

We are metalheads since we were kids, I usually listen to everything metal related, I'm enjoying this new era of the New Core/Djent, but I love to merge this new thing with other metal genres.

Was there a particular band/artist or concert that inspired you to start a band?

Absolutely, pretty much Pantera, As I Lay Dying, Killswitch Engage and In Flames were the pillars of our music in the very beginning.

What has been the biggest highlight of the band’s career so far?

I believe it was the In Flames Brazilian tour, we had the opportunity to be the open act for the whole tour and the experience was really great, I have no words to describe this band, they were awesome to us, treated us so well. That was a game changer in our career.

If you could tour with any bands, past or present, who would they be and why?

Any band of the first metalcore era would be awesome, As I Lay Dying, Killswitch Engage, Trivium, All That Remains, those are bands that built a whole genre and it would be an honor to play with them.

Is there anything else you would like to add?

I'd like to thank for all the help the agencies can do for bands outside US, it's a struggle to reach more people outside our country and we always will be pushing our borders to elevate the music across the world.
