Franklin Moody - Guitar

Nikkolas Gonzales - Bass

Hunter Reese - Drums

Patrick Rainwater - Vocals

For starters, what bands were you guys a part of prior to Rebirth? How long has the band been around?

Rebirth actually started back in November of 2016 with three out of the four of us! While it's Nikk and Franklin's first band, Hunter and our former vocalist Osei both came from If Only. Patrick has been around a bit longer and most recently was in Belaire.

What’s the origin of that name and have you changed the band’s name before?

After If Only split and Hunter and Osei started this project with Nikk and Franklin, the idea for the name came from us thinking about how we wanted to move forward and, not reinvent ourselves persay, but more reimagining what our sound and direction should be: a rebirth. At the time that Patrick came to us, we were actually talking about changing the name to Suppressor. However, we decided to keep Rebirth and went with Suppressor as the title of our first demo with Patrick as our new vocalist.

Who writes your songs? What are the main themes or topics for most of your songs and do you think these topics will change over time?

Typically Franklin will start demoing out material, once he's completed a song he will send it over to Patrick and Hunter. Tweaking drums, and transitions while Patrick finishes up lyrics. Most of the topics for our songs deal with anywhere from depression, to suicide, morality, or any kind of life struggle that we could all come in contact with. I don't really think our topics will change much overtime mostly because this is our outlet to deal with all of our life struggles and hardships.

What bands are currently inspiring the music that you’re making?

Hunter's biggest influences are Phineas and Northlane right now, Patrick will not stop listening to Dayseeker with copious amounts of 90s R&B. Nikkolas loves Chevelle, Tool & Lamb of God, where Franklin is really into Emmure, and Pop Punk.

Was there a particular band/artist or concert that inspired you to start a band?

Linkin Park Live in Texas for Patrick, Franklin was The Acacia Strain at a local show, Nikk saw Cradle of Filth, and Hunter ranks Panteras 91 show in Moscow as his awe of inspiration.

What do you do to prepare for a show? Any flexing, exercises, ect …

It's really important to stretch before our set, do we? Hardly ever haha, however Patrick is pretty consistent about warming up with singing.

What has been the biggest highlight of the band’s career so far?

We just got our first endorsement with Convicted Printing which has been really awesome and beneficial for us and a few great things we have in store for the future! Hunter recently got an endorsement with Saluda Cymbals which got him an amazing custom set of Onyx cymbals.

If you could tour with any bands, past or present, who would they be and why?

A few bands that would be a dream to tour with are Korn, Deftones, Northlane, Dayseeker, Slipknot, The Acacia Strain, and Vildhjarta. As well any band we may tour with in the future no matter how big or small we can't wait to make more friends.

Is there anything else you would like to add?

Check out our endorsements! Convicted Printing & Saluda Cymbals, and be on the lookout for new merch, music, covers, and videos that we have in the works for 2019!
