In 2016 when every member of Psyrus had still belonged to other bands, they consolidated all their experience and love to music in between punk rock and EDM in order to gain recognition on the world stage.

For starters, what bands were you guys a part of prior to PSYRUS? How long has the band been around? 

PSYRUS members played in The Killers, Muse and Aerosmith. Just kidding :) All of us, in one way or another, played in several local bands, but the names are unlikely to tell you anything. And PSYRUS band was founded in 2016.

What’s the origin of that name and have you changed the band’s name before? 

No, the name never changed. In general, the name can be decoded as Psycho Russians.

Who writes your songs? If you want to change over time?

Almost all the lyrics are written by Andrew K. The exception is tracks with guest singers and covers. Arrangements are made collectively. Theme songs is taken from our daily lives. This is what drives us or worries us at the moment. Life does not stand still, so over time, everything can be changed.

What bands are currently inspired by the music that you’re making?

The band members listen to sooo different music, so I don’t want to bore you with a list of 100+ positions from different styles and genres.

Was there a particular band/artist or concert that inspired you to start a band? 

We think no. But at one time we fell in love with Pendulum precisely after a concert in St.Petersburg. Before that, we had no special feelings for them.

What do you do to prepare for a show? 

Whiskey and a little throat singing.

What has been the biggest highlight of the band’s career so far? 

Hitcher video release. If you have not seen yet, then look. It's definitely cost 6 minutes to kill.

If you could tour with any bands, past or present, who would they be and why? 

Yes, perhaps with Motorhead. Because Lemmy was a cool pepper and knew a lot about entertainment.
