Louder Than Words have a poppy sound along with strong vocals, powerful guitars, and a pop punk feel. They bring high energy and passion to their live shows and offer a fantastic overall performance.

Please list all of your band members and their roles in the band.

Dillon Potkay-Moore (lead singer & rhythm guitarist), Christian Hill (lead guitar), Esteban Ruelas (bass), Jonathan Buzzin (drums)

For starters, what bands were you guys a part of prior to Louder Than Words? How long has the band been around?

Johnny and Esteban always wrote with local bands here in Vegas. Christian was in Out With The Old (Riverside, CA) in 2015. Dillon is in No Secret Kept alongside LTW. Louder Than Words is roughly 3 ½ years old! We started in August 2015.

What’s the origin of that name and have you changed the band’s name before?

Haha, our buddy Jack Patterson came up with the name and pitched it to us. We thought it was pretty sweet. Over time we developed an emotional attachment to the name. Music is more than just lyrics. The raw emotion put into music is what makes songs so special.  

Who writes your songs? What are the main themes or topics for most of your songs and do you think these topics will change over time?

We honestly all write our songs. We all have an equal part when it comes to the writing process. When it comes to song topics, it all comes from the heart. We put our emotions into our music and that’ll never change.   

What bands are currently inspiring the music that you’re making?

Our writing inspirations come from many different bands. All of us come from different backgrounds and listen to different bands (for the most part). We’re getting inspiration to bands like State Champs to bands like Movements, Senses Fail, Silverstein, etc!

Was there a particular band/artist or concert that inspired you to start a band?

Not necessarily! Collectively, we all had a burning passion for music at a very young age and it grew from there. Music has always been there for us when life got rough and we grew an emotional attachment to it. Christian, Esteban, and Johnny have been working with one another since missing school.

What do you do to prepare for a show? Any flexing, exercises, ect …

We all do our own thing to warm up! Exercising, listening to music, and stretching are things we definitely do before we hop on stage! Esteban, Dillon, and Christian typically warm up with scales or running over a song just to get in the groove of things. You can find Johnny drumming away on a practice pad whenever he has down time!

What has been the biggest highlight of the band’s career so far?

We have a couple, honestly. I think the biggest highlight of our career is when we played main stage at Extreme Thing 2016. It was literally our 3rd show ever and it was such a great feeling. We worked hard to earn the judge’s pick at battle of the fans (2nd show ever). We played alongside Mayday Parade, State Champs, The Maine, Set It Off, and The Story So Far!

If you could tour with any bands, past or present, who would they be and why?

Paramore, Foo Fighters, All Time Low, & Silverstein. All 4 of those bands influence us a lot and we’ve always looked up to how they’ve progressed over the years. It’s amazing watching a band grow and become successful. Touring with Foo Fighters would be legendary, no doubt about it!
