Legs Electric summon the spirit of the golden days of heavy rock – overcharging '70s blues-based riffs with a full-power vocal attack and a live show worthy of Sunset Strip. In just a few years, the Legs Electric ladies have chiseled their name in stone as one of the most electrifying, must-see bands in their home city of Perth.

Kylie Soanes - Backing Vocals & hard hitting drum beats

Erin Gooden - Laying down the grooves on Bass

Elana Haynes - Souring the melodic sounds on lead guitar

Ama Quinsee - Untamed lead vocals & tambourine extraordinaire

For starters, what bands were you girls a part of prior to Legs Electric. How long has the band been around? 

Legs started in 2012 by Kylie Soanes the founding member and was originally played in The Sure Fire Midnights & blues folk band The Wishers.

Erin Gooden played bass guitar was in Brufield

Elana Haynes & Ama Quinsee were in various local cover bands before joining Legs Electric.

What’s the origin of that name and have you changed the band’s name before?

We originally tossed up the name "Legs Eleven" which was a little too bingo overall so we rocked it up and changed it to "Legs Electric"

Who writes your songs? What are the main themes or topics for most of your songs and do you think these topics will change over time?

All members of Legs write songs we can all play multiple instruments and work on song ideas together however, Ama Quinsee (me) predominantly writes the lyrics. I guess we cover all the good topics from anger, sadness, obsessions, addictions, chaos, falseness, jealousy, hate, letting go, moving on and of course love.

What bands are currently inspiring the music that you’re making?

It's a fruit salad from the 70's, 80's and 90's including Deep Purple, Fleetwood Mac, The Divinyls, Whitesnake, The Living End, Black Sabbath, Tool, The Rolling Stones, The Cult & Led Zep

What do you do to prepare for a show? Any flexing, exercises, ect …

Besides whiskey - Vocal warm-ups, yoga, listening to our favourite tunes to get us in the mood. Elana, Kylie & Erin tend to take off together to a quite place 10 minutes before we hit the stage and stretch their hands, wrists and legs and necks - it’s so important to warm up so you can play your best - it’s also very physical up there especially the music we play! We give it 150% energy! 

What has been the biggest highlight of the band’s career so far?

Supporting some of our idols including Sebastian Bach, Ace Frehley from KISS, Uriah Heep and The Baby Animals and meeting bands from all over the world and making new friends! Plus our fans are so awesome and really follow our journey we wouldn’t be here without their support so thank you! 

If you could tour with any bands, past or present, who would they be and why?

Whitesnake for me, I'm a huge fan of David Coverdale but then there's the ultimate rockers The Rolling Stones!
