In Attica is the gritty progressive Electronic Alt-Rock project of solo artist Caleb Fairchild. Originally created in 2009, Caleb used In Attica to introduce Myspace and PureVolume listeners to his art. The project went on hiatus for almost a decade and has returned in 2021 to debut a whole new sound and feel.

Caleb Fairchild - This is a Solo Project

For starters, what bands were you guys a part of prior to In Attica? How long has the band been around?

Far From Phoenix (2006 - 2008) , Chapel Hill Tragedy (2009) , Imperial Skies (2016 - Present)

What’s the origin of that name and have you changed the band’s name before?

In Attica comes from an experience I had back in 2009 in Attica, Indiana. It was an adventure that involved small towns, getting lost, and losing track of time. That is What In Attica is about.

Who writes your songs? What are the main themes or topics for most of your songs and do you think these topics will change over time?

I write all of the songs and record them myself with my friend Bryan at Imperial Audio Studio in South Bend. Songs are about everything from life and discovering self respect, to love and loss.

What bands are currently inspiring the music that you’re making?

Andrew McMahon, Thirty Seconds to Mars, Chvrches, Bruce Hornsby, New Order, Bleachers, and more... a very wide range.

Was there a particular band/artist or concert that inspired you to start a band?

Oh yes, Bullet for my Valentine. The Poison tour.

What do you do to prepare for a show? Any flexing, exercises, ect …

A) Stretch and go barefoot.

What has been the biggest highlight of the band’s career so far?

Just the opportunity to connect with people all over the world.

If you could tour with any bands, past or present, who would they be and why?

Queen. because they knew how to connect with an audience and were/are some of the best performers of all time.
