Willie – Vocals
Ethan- Guitar
Chad- Guitar
Jake- Bass/vocals
Nathan- Drums

For starters, what bands were you guys a part of prior to (insert band/artist name here)? How long has the band been around?
Well we’ve all been in quite a few bands since the majority of us have played music since middle school so we won’t bombard you with irrelevant band names
Willie – Hollow Vessels, The Emissary, New Harbour
Ethan- Pride & Prejudice, From Rags to Riches, EthanNolanHall
Chad- The Emissary, Aspire
Jake – New Harbour
Nathan – First band, but has jammed with friends regularly since high school

What’s the origin of that name and have you changed the band’s name before?
We honestly could not think of a band name that we could all agree on for the life of us. We all spit out names for weeks and weeks and one day Jake suggested “Home, For Now” and we all sort of stopped for a minute and realized we could all relate to it. We’ve all sort of been thrown around by life and have had to move from place to place, from couch, to car, to friends house, to new apartment, back to parents house etc. etc. Where ever we ended up was a place to call “Home” for now, so that’s where the name “Home, For Now” came from. We feel like we’ve all been in enough bands that have generic names or meaningless names and this really touched us a whole and feel like people can relate to the name so we felt like it was a solid fit for the band name.

Who writes your songs? What are the main themes or topics for most of your songs and do you think these topics will change over time?
Ethan and I (Chad) write all of the guitar parts and structure the songs out and then send it over to Nathan so he can brainstorm what he wants to do with the drums. We track everything and shoot it over to Willie and Jake to write lyrics and melodies and they work together to make it happen.
“For this album our songs are really about going through hard times in life and feeling out of place” – Willie
The vocals patterns are really “in your face” and have an angsty pop-punk feel to it but the chorus melodies really draw you in.

What bands are currently inspiring the music that you’re making?
Well we don’t believe we fit the typical “pop-punk” genre because our instrumentals don’t scream pop-punk. But our sound is comparable to bits and pieces of Transit, Knuckle Puck, A Will Away, Taking Back Sunday, The Story So Far, Neck Deep and The Used.

Was there a particular band/artist or concert that inspired you to start a band?
(Totally read this wrong; thought it said “start playing music”
Chad- Definitely Underoath for me. When I was growing up I only really listened to what my sister to listened to and once I started to get older my friend at school in 8th grade gave me “They’re Only Chasing Safety” by Underoath and I fell in love and asked for a guitar for birthday that year.

Ethan- It started from KISS…I used to dance around in my room and pretend that I was in that band. I got my first guitar for my birthday, and then I danced around in my room with that guitar for a few years and then slowly started being able to compose music

Nathan- There wasn’t really a specific band that made me want to start playing music, I just liked music in general and wanted to learn an instrument

Willie- Taking Back Sunday, one day I was in Target and I saw “Tell All Your Friends” and went to the headphone station and listened to it and just had to get it. It changed my whole outlook on music

Jake - It's a tie between AC/DC and black Sabbath. I was obsessed with those bands when I was in the 5th grade. Also around the same time I got my first guitar.

What do you do to prepare for a show? Any flexing, exercises, ect …
We flex all the time so that’s just normal…kidding.
We’re actually really new and haven’t played a show yet, we have one coming up in May that we’re really excited about. Whenever we practice we just drink and hang out. Honestly we’re all just really comfortable with each other and we get jacked up on the music we write so there’s not really any pre-show nerves, we’re just doing what we love with our best friends.

What has been the biggest highlight of the band’s career so far?
The biggest highlight of this bands career so far is probably just releasing our debut single. It seems like a really simple thing, and yeah it is, I mean bands release songs everyday but this is a big deal to us. For the first time in our lives we’re writing music that we want to write. For the first time we aren’t trying to impress anyone. For the first time we aren’t trying to fit a sound. For the first time we are writing for ourselves, if people like it cool, if they don’t, cool.

If you could tour with any bands, past or present, who would they be and why?
“Nirvana, because of their energy. They tear their own instruments up, dress how they want to dress and don’t give a fuck” – Ethan

“If I could tour with any band, even though it doesn’t fit our sound, Letlive. Hands down. They are the most insane live show I’ve ever seen, yet the most chill dudes to actually talk to” – Chad

“Touring with Underoath would be awesome because that was one of my favorite bands when I first started playing the drums” –Nathan

“Again, Taking Back Sunday. Their shows are just inspirational, you leave their shows feeling like something in your life has changed” –Willie

“Touring with every time I die would be sick. I've seen them play like 6 times. They are the most rock n roll band. It's insane" – Jake
