For starters, what bands were you guys a part of prior to HALF BLOOD? How long has the band been around?

Manuel was part of DISSORS, Sebastian was part of Wormhole Project, and Ismael was part of Sumission.

The band started in 2014, but we will release our debut album this year (2017).

What’s the origin of that name and have you changed the band’s name before?

The origin of the name is our chilean roots. We have a mix of native blood with spanish blood, so Half Blood was the best way to cover our identity.

Who writes your songs? What are the main themes or topics for most of your songs and do you think these topics will change over time?

We all participate in the musical process of writing songs. First the instrumental part is made and then the lyrics. We talk about reality, political reality, social reality, emotions, etc. I can tell about the future, but I'm sure I got more fire for a second album.

What bands are currently inspiring the music that you’re making?

I think is a mix from old stuff like Tool, Slipknot, Sepultura, Meshuggah, Cannibal Corpse, with a more modern sound.

Was there a particular band/artist or concert that inspired you to start a band?

When I was 13 MTV was playing the Nirvana Unplugged, and then everything was clear to me.

What do you do to prepare for a show? Any flexing, exercises, ect …

Nothing really, all the preparation is done in the rehearsal room.

What has been the biggest highlight of the band’s career so far?

Working with Logan Mader! What an honor!

If you could tour with any bands, past or present, who would they be and why?

Slipknot, that would be so amazing! Also a Sepultura reunion tour...fuck that would be a dream come true!
