Please list all of your band members and their roles in the band.
David Wallace - Vocals
James Becca - Guitar/Vocals
Bobby Crow - Guitar
Zac “Scooter” Clevenger - Bass
Kyle O’Connell - Drums
For starters, what bands were you guys a part of prior to False Accusations? How long has the band been around?
Well, for Jimmy, Kyle, and David this was really our first serious project with an actual name and release. We started the band over the internet in 2011 when we all lived far away from each other.
Bobby and Zac have been in a handful of bands around the Ohio Valley/Pittsburgh area. And Bobby actually is still active in the band Signs of the Swarm.
What’s the origin of that name and have you changed the band’s name before?
David and Jimmy joked about starting a fake band on Facebook, they brainstormed names, decided on False Accusations, made the page, and then got serious.
Who writes your songs? What are the main themes or topics for most of your songs and do you think these topics will change over time?
All our songs pretty much start with Jimmy writing riffs. A lot of times he'll just hash out a rough demo, and then bring it to practice where everyone adds their own flare to it.
The lyrics to FA songs are super personal. We aren't a band to really do much political talk, or be a stereotypically pissed off metal band, we're just pretty sad usually. David and Jimmy split writing the lyrics and they almost all just come as personal experiences come. Most of the time the lyrics are a spur of the moment, write how/what you feel type thing.
What bands are currently inspiring the music that you’re making?
We all have a few bands that'll always stay in our top, but I feel like lately we've been listening to more modern hardcore and you can definitely hear it in our new stuff.
Expire/Left Behind/Incendiary. Stuff like that.
Was there a particular band/artist or concert that inspired you to start a band?
I'm pretty sure all of us grew up very musical. Jimmy, Kyle and David's dads were all musicians, so I think we all grew up around it and fell in love with it.
What do you do to prepare for a show? Any flexing, exercises, etc …
David does real vocal warm-ups and Jimmy usually doesn't remember to although he should. Nothing too exciting. We throw ourselves around a lot so jumping/stretching before a set definitely helps.
What has been the biggest highlight of the band’s career so far?
Any show we play is a highlight. It's why we do it. Releasing Late to the Party was a big highlight, marked a change in our sound. We played a show with enter Shikari last year and that was huge, but playing in basements, halls, storage spaces, Etc. THAT'S what we live for.
If you could tour with any bands, past or present, who would they be and why?
Every Time I Die is number one for everyone I think.
But, for old/defunct:
The Chariot, Botch, The Bled, The Dillinger Escape Plan
Present:
Left Behind, Rolo Tomassi, Horse the Band, A Day To Remember.
Is there anything else you would like to add?
If you're reading this, we love you, thank you. Listen to our music anyway you like. You can download it for free. Catch us at a show.
