Joe Ramos- Drums
Octavio Gonzalez- Guitar/Vocals

For starters, what bands were you guys a part of prior to Fader Friend? How long has the band been around?

We were all part of various music projects, a few that had relative success are- The Panic Division, Cassetta, West Bound Departure. Fader Friend has been a band since 2015 with a rotating line up through out the years. The current line up has been together for a little over a year now. The line up we have now we would all like to consider final. Octavio Being the sole original member of the band.

What’s the origin of that name and have you changed the band’s name before?

We've never changed our abdn name before. Thought about it tons of times as line ups changed and what not. The name was kept as a homage to all past members as friends do fade over time.

Who writes your songs? What are the main themes or topics for most of your songs and do you think these topics will change over time?

We write all of our songs. Octavio is the main point for the general idea of a song and presents it to the band and we take it and make it worth listening to. Most songs are about change, fear and age.

What bands are currently inspiring the music that you’re making?

Many different background on music here, I think one thing we all agree on is we love 90's pop alternative. James is big on the Beatles, Aaron is into Microwave and several other newer artists coming out right now, Joe is into The Bad Suns, Octavio still listens to the smashing pumpkins every day.

Was there a particular band/artist or concert that inspired you to start a band?

Not really anything that comes to mind here. I think the most inspiring shows were alwayswatching small touring bands play packed house shows. always the best.

What do you do to prepare for a show? Any flexing, exercises, ect …

Aaron and Octavio always find themselves wandering around the city practicing harmony in a parking lot somewhere. We always find ourselves together right before a show and toast our drinks to the show and to the night before heading on. Joe does stick exercises and like stated before tons of vocal warm up.

What has been the biggest highlight of the band’s career so far?

We were fortunate enough to land a spot on the Fashion meets music festival in Columbus, OH. traveled all the way from San Antonio for one gig. totally worth it.

If you could tour with any bands, past or present, who would they be and why?

Jimmy Eat World! probably the most fitting band we all agree on and is in each of our own top 5 lists of best band ever.

Is there anything else you would like to add?
