Unsigned Spotlight: B.O. Gora

B.O Gora is a one man project from Hackney, London.

Please list all of your band members and their roles in the band.

I'm by my own making all of the takes then I usually deliver the demo to my sound engineer for the mix then master engineer for the final step before the release plus the digital cover are all handmade retouched by my digital designer

For starters, what bands were you a part of prior to B.O Gora? How long has the band been around?

As a session drummer I've been on stage with Grendel and now with Biomechanimal.

B.O.Gora is around since 1999 with a different name as Biogora

What’s the origin of that name and have you changed the band’s name before?

B.O.Gora as body odor and gora as the worse one describing the evolution of a mutant creature (the logo) having an endless journey begun in another country (where Biogora was born with other people) changing language, name, getting new influences in terms of music and image. All from the life experiences, directly from the street

Who writes your songs? What are the main themes or topics for most of your songs and do you think these topics will change over time?

All come from me and my life experiences where I usually release stress got in the past and present through the music/lyrics (I have a lot of stress ahah). Maybe I will change the topics on my songs, it s depends on what life style I'm having and how will be the project in the future

What bands are currently inspiring the music that you’re making?

Static X, Soulfly, Prodigy,Bob Vylan, City Morgue, Ghostemane

Was there a particular band/artist or concert that inspired you to start a band?

All of the Death Metal sin at the middle of 90s

What do you do to prepare for a show? Any flexing, exercises, ect …

If I'm on stage as drummer, loads of rudiments and daily practice along the setlist.

For B.O.Gora I'm still behind the songwriting looking forward to set up a show with a line up eventually once I ve got tunes enough to organize shows

What has been the biggest highlight of the band’s career so far?

We have been playing as Biogora at that time in one of the biggest show in Italy for a National Working Class Celebration on 1st of May in a festival based in Rome called Primo Maggio on 2005 as first edition then 2006 in front of a huge crowd (video available on my YouTube channel as B.O.Gora )then we split haha

If you could tour with any bands, past or present, who would they be and why?

Napalm Death, Korn, Prodigy for the consistence on making stunning music since ever

Is there anything else you would like to add?

If you see yourself in B.O.Gora feel free to add me and text me asking me questions, any questions I'm in constant evolution because I'm started from zero once we have split with Biogora so I know how can be the life as rockstar and as unsigned artist with all of the lessons got from both context.
