Back From Nothing is an Alternative-Rock band from Westchester, NY. They’ve played with bands such as; Makeout, Assuming We Survive, Cayetana, The Cardboard Swords, Grayling, and The Battle of Los Angeles.

For starters, what bands were you guys a part of prior to Back From Nothing?

This is our first serious band for all of us.

What’s the origin of that name and have you changed the band’s name before?

The origin of the name Back From Nothing came to our bassist, Marlon in a dream. It describes us perfectly.

Who writes your songs? What are the main themes or topics for most of your songs and do you think these topics will change over time?

Nick writes the skeleton of the songs. Meaning that it can be played from front to back with his rhythm guitar and vocals. Typically, when the song is brought to the rest of the band it will change a lot and sound different from when it began. Everyone plays an important part in writing the songs. Nick writes the lyrics which usually stems from personal experiences.

It's written with the intention for anybody to be able to enjoy and relate to the music. All of the music is recorded and mixed by Back From Nothing in our own recording studio. We're excited to say that our newest album was mastered by Andy Casella at Shape Recording.

Was there a particular band/artist or concert that inspired you to start a band?

Nick- The Front Bottoms

What has been the biggest highlight of the band’s career so far?

We've played some awesome shows and worked on some great music. The most fun we have had was recording our music video for "New Logic". We'd like to think that the biggest highlight of the band has been the release of "Someone Say Something."

If you could tour with any bands, past or present, who would they be and why?

In the past, we would have loved to tour with any of the bands who inspired us. I think a band that all of us could agree on to be our  #1 would have been Rage Against The Machine, simply because of the energy that they gave off during their performances.

Is there anything else you would like to add?
