Jamie - guitar and vocals
Tom - bass and vocals
Leah - drums and vocals
Dave - guitar and vocals

For starters, what bands were you guys a part of prior to Alaska Alaska? How long has the band been around?

Well before this I (Jamie) wasn't really in a proper band just small time teenage bands local bands but I've been in this band since 2013 when it started off, toms been in numerous bands like the bleeding process, Dave was in a few bands that didn't get anywhere, Leah been in a few bands in the past and was in the bands original line up years ago!

What’s the origin of that name and have you changed the band’s name before?

The name of the band came from a list we made a few years back and I got the idea of Alaska because we was all big fans of the film into the wild but thought if we had just Alaska no one would be able to find us so we went with the quote from the film Alaska! Alaska!

Who writes your songs? What are the main themes or topics for most of your songs and do you think these topics will change over time?

We all tend to write our own songs, we don't really go in with a theme when writing songs normally just what's on our minds, I do tend to try and write at least the odd positive song or two but I don't think this will change as i see it as a form of therapy.

What bands are currently inspiring the music that you’re making?

Oh damn I could list a ton of bands, the menzingers, iron chic, banner pilot, crime in stereo, gnarwolves, bangers and the movie life are just to name a few.

Was there a particular band/artist or concert that inspired you to start a band?

Well what made me want to start this band was seeing a latterman track called "our better halves" pop up on Facebook and It basically gave me goosebumps and made me want to be in a band again!

What do you do to prepare for a show? Any flexing, exercises, ect …

Does drinking beer count as exercise?

What has been the biggest highlight of the band’s career so far?

Biggest highlight for us at the moment is recording this e.p. some of the songs on the e.p. have been lodged in my head for years now and hearing them down on recording is an amazing feeling! Also finding these guys to join the band with me also I've been through a lot of members but the other guys are just amazing and awesome people.

If you could tour with any bands, past or present, who would they be and why?

Wow if I (Jamie) could tour with any band it would either be the menzingers or latterman just so I could watch those bands every night!

We have a new ep coming out soon and we'll be gigging like crazy as well!
