EQO's new album, Ananta comes out tomorrow. For the occasion, we asked vocalist Daisy Billis to tell us about each track. His commentary on the full album can be seen below as well as an exclusive stream of the new record

"Material” — a song about the struggle we face when we place too much value on materialism. The music was written as a loop with minimal variation to mimic the vicious circle of sex and drugs.

"Lighthouse” — the chorus for “Lighthouse" essentially translates into 'come to your senses cause there is no relationship worth losing yourself over. Its message emphasizes the emotional strain that is put on someone in a relationship when they lose sight of who they are.

"I Only I" — a testament to the self, coming to terms with the darkness in your past to allow the light to break into the present. We collect details and names of those who have wronged us, but at the end of the day, we are the ones responsible for own destruction and we are the ones responsible for own salvation.

"Persona” — reveals the defense mechanism within every narcissist. If you're going to wear a mask make sure its one of your own face.

"Love” — explores the dynamic of harmony. It's not meant to be a story of romance, so much as it is meant to be a story of love itself. From peaceful reflection to the throes of desperation, "Love" captures the spectrum of that which dignifies all creation.

"Debauchery” — the dialogue of insanity. It displays the consequence of miscommunication in a Shakespearean manner, and is meant to show the result of two individuals who are committed to misunderstanding one another.

"Flow” — what is living if we do not feel alive? “Flow" is a song which captures the essence of healing and reconnecting to the self. Many of the lyrics were inspired by being in nature and Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi's book entitled Flow, which explores the root of happiness.

"AIO” — it means "All Is One.” It's a song dedicated to the human spirit. Its message is unity and opening our minds to new ideas in order to reach our highest potential.    

"DMT”  — about the 'spirit molecule,' dimethyltryptamine. It was inspired by a dream, as well a psychedelic trip. The lyrics are ambiguous, the music is open and ambient to recreate the atmosphere of what its like to explore new depths of consciousness. It begs the question, "Do you know who you are?" While bringing the listener along for the ride on a journey of self-discovery.
