Track By Track: Drop The Act - Let's Plan A Robbery

Drop The Act's new album, Let's Plan A Robbery came out a few weeks ago. For the occasion, we asked vocalist Matt Priscilla to tell us about each track. His commentary on the full album can be seen below.

1. The Only Reason I Hold On is about being afraid of taking that leap of faith and risking it all to chase your dreams. It brings forth the reality of uncertainty when thinking about where you'll be in the future and if everything you're doing right now in life will be worth it or not in the end.

2. Truth In Consequences is a personal one for myself (Matt). I wrote the song after a 4 year relationship I was in all throughout high school ended very suddenly and for a lot of wrong reasons. After a few months went by this person tried to re-enter my life and came to find out that her attempt at making things better did not turn out just how she planned.

3.  Friendzoned is about exactly what it sounds like. The ups and downs of liking that certain girl more than a friend but her seeing you nothing more than just that in return.

4. Would You Like to Eat My Candy Paw is about being stuck in a situation that seems to have no way out. Feeling lost and trapped within your own thoughts to the point where you begin to separate from reality.

5. Second String is actually about a particular group of individuals from our hometown (so pop punk, I know) that valued athletically talented kids over kids that were talented in other things. These kids that weren't popular or athletic were never recognized for their accomplishments. This song is kind of our way of sticking up for them and representing them.

6. Drunk In January is my personal favorite. It also relates to Truth In Consequences by being directed to that certain person who screwed me over. Instead this song is about that phase in the aftermath of a relationship where you begin to rediscover who you were before you met that person. Going out and partying with friends without feeling any guilt or having any regrets. It's about getting your life back and being happy without that person.

7. Stay Close is about a  girl I had a summer romance with many years ago when I was much younger. It was innocent. It ended because of her family having to move away but this song kind of stands as a staple for how I felt that summer and how I wanted her to stay close in her heart and mind regardless of the distance that was going to keep us apart.

8. Tattoos, Gauges, And Ripped Jeans is about my first Warped Tour experience ever. I met a girl there that fits the description described in the song and I was awe-struck. The song describes what I was thinking the whole time I was there with her and what I wanted to do even though I had a "good girl back at home".

9. Fake It Till You Make It is about being surrounded by people who want to see you fail but defying the odds and making them believe you're proving them wrong whether you actually are or not.

10. I'm Not a Gentleman, I'm a Sellout is about a failed attempt at a relationship because the guy was just unwilling to settle down and commit himself. It's basically him telling this girl that he's not a bad person he just had bad intentions .
