June 25, 2016
Sam Reed
Ladies, festival season and summer concerts are upon us and I'm sure many of you have already hit up one your favorite music festivals this year. Festivals are a great way to see all of the bands you know and love and catch some fresh new faces; they are not; however, great on our faces. You're outside all day, getting real close to a whole lot of people, and it's more likely than not hotter than the devil's asshole outside. But just because the conditions are not ideal for our faces, doesn't mean that we can't beat them to the high heavens and still look fabulous. I've compromised a list of some of the best products out there that will stay on through the festival and concert madness without costing you your soul. Check them out and comment on any other beauty suggestions you ladies have! Happy concert-ing!
1. Nivea Men Sensitive Post Shave Balm
Every quality make-up look is going to start with a really nice primer. This is definitely qualifies as such. Make-up gurus across the board have agreed that this atypical primer is a must have for the longevity of your look and it moisturizes your skin to boot. And you can find this at just about any drug-store and it usually runs about $6.
This eyeshadow primer works really well and gives you everything you want from a primer; a brighter pigment, crease-free look, and something that will last you all day. Some people even say that this works as an awesome under-eye concealer but I haven't tried it for that purpose. This is $3 and can be picked up online or Wal-mart and it awesome because not only is it an awesome primer, but a sealer as well. It goes on smooth and is a purchase you will want to make before you hit up ant sort of all-day show experience.
I love both the Liquid Suede and Liquid Lingerie lines. The Lingeries are more nude/brown tones, while the Suedes offer really cool, vibrant colors. The applicator isn't my favorite, but it lasts just as well as any high quality matte liquid lip I've tried and it doesn't dry up your lips like the mattes do. And they're cheap too, you can these for $7 online or at Ulta.
I'm usually a felt-tip liquid liner girl, but this is really quality liner that stays on through literally everything. I'm almost positive I could wear this into battle and come out still looking just as pristine as before. Plus the thin tip really lets you get the sharpest point for your winged liner! Also only $7 online or at Ulta.
This is definitely one of the more pricey items that is on this list, but this is something well worth splurging on. This foundation covers extremely well and lasts all day through sweat, sun, and whatever else you may put your face through. This line is especially great for the particularly pale girls (I'm looking at myself here) because she carries an array of very light shades.
Ugh, I just recently started using this and I am OBSESSED. I can't sing the praises of ColourPop enough honestly. The Brow Colour is similar to the Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade, but I personally like this more. It's a little bit thinner which makes it easier to apply and spread to your eyebrows. Plus, there are so many natural color options so you can find something that will match well with what hair color you have. I have worn it through my craziest, sweatiest work days and my eyebrows were still completely on point at the end of the day, no matter how much I rubbed them. And for $6 you really can't beat it!
7. Maybelline The Rocket Volum' Express
This is my go-to mascara. It's waterproof, the perfect shade of black, and my lashes are always beautifully fanned and never clumpy. Plus, it will literally take you through battle and a hurricane at the same time and still remain completely in tact. Because it stays on so well though, I would suggest a really effective make-up removing wipe or lotion to get it off at the end of your music-filled day. You can find this at literally any drug store and it's usually about $6.
Again, ColourPop comes in with a huge win with these highlighters. I originally caught wind of them because make-up guru, Jeffree Star had mentioned that he was in love with them. I purchased the shade Monster and I could not be happier with the product. It's a nice satin type highlighter, so I just put it on with my fingers and it feels like heaven on. Plus, you can count that it will be with you and you'll still sparkle like a queen by the end of you day. And it's only $8!
This line carries 27 different shades right now, and they're all pretty fierce. These eyeshadows are really pigmented, but I suggest applying them wet or using a quality eyeshadow primer. They offer a lot of really cool metallics and shimmers too which is beautiful because who doesn't love glitter? These are $5 and are easy to take on the go which is handy if you are travelling to any festivals this season.
This is another absolute must have, it's a life-saver in a bottle. It's made so light and airy and gives you that perfect shine-free look. It's a must have because it is the cherry on top that quite literally seals in your look.
