On this day, October 27th, in 1982 American musician Prince released his fifth studio album ‘1999’ via Warner Brother Records. Cited as Prince’s ‘breakthrough’ album ‘1999’ was one of his first albums to make it on the Billboard 200 and even becoming certified quadruple platinum by the RIAA. ‘1999’ produced hit singles such as “Little Red Corvette”, “Automatic”, and even “Delirious” making for an all-around well-built album. After the death of Prince in April of 2016, ‘1999’ would peak at number 7 on the Billboard 200. Listen to the title track below.
