This Day In Music History: August 22nd

On this day, August 22nd, in 1967 musician Layne Staley was born, he would have been 50 years old today. Staley was known for his work with Alice in Chains’ lead vocalist as well as occasional songwriter. Alice in Chains was part of the early 90’s grunge movement, coming out of Seattle, Washington along with other bands such as Soundgarden, Nirvana, and Pearl Jam. Staley would pass away in early 2002 after losing the battle with drug addiction. Check out his work below!
