Did you miss the party?

Indonesian rapper Rich Chigga shook the floor at the Grog Shop on November 8th, along with up and coming group Duckwrth and notable rapper Don Krez. With only a few songs released by all parties, the setlist was quite short; however, no one left this show disappointed.

As we arrived, shortly after Don Krez finished with his last number, the atmosphere was exuberant and ready for the upcoming acts. Duckwrth gave us a small feeling of deja-vu as he took the stage not once, but twice as he vehemently pumped up the crowd. As his intro was cut short, he comedically put it in reverse and took the stage a second time with more energy and rocked the crowd. With a live bassist on stage, he really added some depth and dimension to his performance. Opening with LOWRIDR, he got the crowd moving with a heavy beat and some polished lyrics. His show was quite dynamic and included a variety of rap/hip-hop and dance music, starting with some "ass-shaking" music, and eventually turning all the way up with what is undoubtedly his best song, Tamagotchi. Ending the show after a few well-received songs, he hyped up the crowd and got them prepped for who they all came to see: Rich Chigga.

With a remarkable aptitude for stage performance, Rich Chigga took the mic to a sold-out crowd and astounded us all. For only just turning 18 (born Septemeber 2 1999) Brian Imanuel had incredible poise and stage presence. As he opened up the show with Back At It, he captivated the audience and really got the energy flowing. He seamlessly transitioned into Seventeen and that is the first song that got the crowd moshing. As a small pit formed in the center, it slowly grew out and enveloped the whole crowd (those that could take it anyway) and really gave the performance a feeling equated to some of the bigger acts out there on tour. As he continued through his set, he, of course, played some of his earlier hits, including Living the Dream, which was the first song he released on his YouTube channel back on July 17, 2015.

After following that up with Glow Like Dat and Chaos, as well as Rich Chigga emblazoned money, he moved on to one his more famous songs Who That Be. By this time the crowd was vibrating the walls and shaking the floor, ready for him to showcase his hit song Dat $tick. The crowd vicariously sang and jumped along to his viral debut single. As he finished up and thanked the crowd, he left the stage to chants of "one more song! one more song!" to which he vibrantly obliged. Chigga jumped back up on stage and gladly performed his hit song one more time to appease the crowd and with that, the show was over. Being only 18 and already selling out shows and rocking crowds like that, you really don't want to mess with a Chigga like him.
