Show Review: Otenki (Houston, TX)

This weekend I had the privilege of getting all access at House Of Blues to shoot some of the most popular Houston rock bands. While I did spend quite a bit of time abusing the catering, I also got to meet up and take some photos of all the band's that played that night. In fact, I followed from the time they loaded in to the time they left and got some interesting quotes from them which I'll include in this review.

Otenki guitarist, Enoma, setting up.

The first band to go on was a reggae style band by the name of Cassette Tape. This interesting rock influenced reggae certainly gave the night an interesting start featuring flip flop clad guitarists, a gorilla man, and a painter on stage.

The next band, Color Chemistry, came to thrash us about with their prog metal glory. With a fast paced and fun set, they were definitely the stand out heavy band of the night!

Indie pop band, King Finn, put on one of my personal favorite sets of the night. The front man Chris Gallego was full of bursting energy that kept everyone on their toes. If you have the chance, go see these guys

"Otenki is highly inspired by Justin Timberlake"

"Make me look good!"

After an exciting wait and some killer openers, Otenki finally took the stage. Houston fans were on their feet for the fun and energetic set. Singer, German went absolutely nuts, throwing the Otenki banner into the crowd and then jumping into it! All in all it was a fantastic show that showcased some of Houston's very best acts.
