After making my way through the endless line that was wrapping around the venue, I finally entered the Stubb’s Amphitheater here in Austin, Texas. The night kicked off in a timely fashion as everyone and their uncle filed into the venue with the excitement for the show to come. With the house music coming to a halt and the lights dimming, the first band of the night took the stage.

The first band of the night, All Get Out, hit the stage and instantly began their performance. With a short seven song set-list the band made sure that they gave the best of what they had to offer. One of the most notable aspects of All Get Out’s set was the crowd to artist interaction that started from the first song and kept strong till the last second.

The second band of the night, Foxing, was the band -other than Manchester Orchestra, obviously- I was most excited to catch. After a quick set change the band took the stage in a flurry and within seconds their set began. Starting off their set with popular track ‘Eiffel’ the crowd began moving like the waves in the sea, letting the music guide their every bit. The most notable aspect of the band's set was during their last song of the night - Rory- when the band’s guitarist handed his guitar into the crowd for a fan to play. Now, while that could be a risky move for a musician, this was a success. This fan played the end of the song with the same passion as the band and finished Foxing’s set off strong!   

Now the final band of the night, Manchester Orchestra, was the reason everyone was at Stubb’s for the night. With a bit of a wait for their set change, and of course a few minutes to hype the crowd, Manchester Orchestra elegantly took the stage and instantly began the set of the night. With a seventeen set playlist, the band played a little bit from all of their work, but especially their latest release ‘A Black Mile To The Surface’. Manchester Orchestra has a wonderful way of taking a live performance to the next level with their bare roots stage set up allowed for the focus to be on the music and the energy the show created. The balance between the guitar, vocals and back line were of unfathomable proportions. There is an obvious level of musicianship that shows when any of the members performs, but definitely shines when they perform together. With Manchester Orchestra being one of the best bands to see live, make sure you catch them at your local date.
