Show Review: FIDLAR (Pittsburgh, PA)

It's been about a year since FIDLAR has gone dead silent. There had been no annoucements, touring or any work from the band. They had seemingly dropped off the map. At the end of January 2015, a video dropped stating a "2K15 Spring Tour" being partly supported by Metz.  I had a chance to check out this tour in Pittsburgh, PA and here's what went down.

The show was annouced to be at The Altar Bar, a small renovated church being used as a venue. The capacity for the venue was 500 and ended up having about 400 people total. While most people weren't getting hyped to Pittsburgh local bands The Nox Boys and Umbrella Corporation, they put on a good show regardless. Around 9 pm, the lights went down and everyone ran to the stage. What happened next was nothing short of insanity.

The band stormed the stage blasting thier guitars to "Stoked And Broke". The crowd started moving and it never stopped even once. As stated by a MOM POP interview with past FIDLAR touring mates: It was like bathing in the fountain of youth".

The vibe given off by the crowd was defintely leaning towards high school/ college garage shows. The floor moved during the show and every song brought the house down. To say that there was just moshing was an understatement.

The show overall was absolutely fantastic. It was electrifying and very intense. (Setlist) Some bands sound good on tape and bad live and others, vice versa. FIDLAR manages to pull off both. I'm giving this concert a 9 out of 10 and recommend it to fans of Wavves and people who like to surf. ( because Max sure can't! ) You can find tour dates here.
